Can you give us something with James and Iris telling their family ( Drysdales, Rogers and Adlers) about their new lil one on the way? also what was Poppy, Thorne and Oakley's reaction to that news?
Oh!! Well for both Iris and Posie they wanted to tell their smaller family first. Like how Kitten and Ransom does, Iris and James have a family dinner with Posie and Jax. At this point, they had moved back, and it kills James not to see the kids daily. Poppy loves the babes, Thorne loves his mama, and Oakie is James and is like, okay. This is cool.

James drops his fork on his plate, and grabs up Iris’s hand. Giving her a serene smile, and he rubs on her leg. “Ris, I think it’s time,” she gives him a little nod and Poppy crawls over into his lap. Still his baby girl.
“Daddy, you and mommy got secrets like Posie?” she asks sweetly.
“Mama no secets. No no,” Daisy shakes her head, leaning back on Posie. “Mama in way,” she slaps at her belly, and Iris snorts.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“What?” James looks at Iris and then at Posie. “What’s happening.”
“Mom,” Posie clears her throat trying to push Daisy’s hand off of her. “What are you needing to tell us.”
“Uh, your dad…”
“Hey hey hey, this was a joint effort. I brought it up, you were completely complicit in the endeavor.”
“What are you talking another?” Thorne’s lip curls up as he looks at his dad.
“We’re having another baby!” James almost shouts, covering Poppy’s ears who squeals with him.
“A baby?” Abel and Oakley ask at the same time.
“Oh no,” Jax leans over on Posie, causing Daisy to push at his face.
“Dada no, my mama.”
“Mommy is having baby, Oakie.”
“Another one? This family has a lot of babies,” Thorne may tease his dad, but he does walk over to give his mom a big hug.
“Posie, I think you also have something to tell us,” Iris snorts again grabbing at James hand.
“What could possibly be better than your mother being pregnant again?” handing Daisy over to Jax who just makes grabby hands for her mama the second she lets her go.
“Mama hold you,” turning to the side she runs her hands down her body, flattening the dress. “Mama big belly, yook is gumpy. Yook belly in way.”
“Posie Sarah Rogers.”
“Posie Rogers Teller, daddy.”
“What happened to this plan. You’re living at the estate.”
“The house should be finished before she’s born,” Jax says, handing Daisy back to who rubs on Posie’s belly. Slapping at Lily’s temporary home.
“She?” James pouts, and then looks at Iris. “He says she. So we’re having a baby, and you’re having a baby girl.”
“Yiyi,” Daisy pats her mom’s belly, “Yiyi fowur.”
“Yiyi?” Abel asks. “You’ve been been saying Yiyi for a month. Mama, what’s the baby’s name?”
“Lily Hugh,” Iris let’s out an aw, holding her mouth hearing the sweet name.
“Yiyi fowur. Yiyi fowur. Mama, Yiyi fowur,” Daisy sings looking up at her.
“She has been saying Yiyi a lot,” James stubs up. “You told my Daisy flower about the baby and not us?”
“What babe?” Daisy holds her hands up. “Yovie babe?”
“Mama’s baby,” Jax gives her a kiss on her head, and she shakes it no, slapping at her chest.
“Me mama’s baby.”
“A baby in her belly like Lovie.”
“Ouch,” her chubby hand rubs on her scar. “No baby for mama. I baby. Mama my heawt ouch.”
“Oh no, you need Grumpy to help?” she shakes her head no while Posie rubs on her chest. “So I get another perfect grandchild and another baby? Two babies at once. Is your sister pregnant?”
“I don’t think so,” Iris giggles smiling at her family continuing to get bigger and bigger. “Posie, Jax, you happy?” with a look over at each other, they smile giving a nod. “Abie, you happy?”
“Yep. Can we go play now? We almost got Indie to do a cool trick.”
Excusing the boys, and Poppy pulls Daisy into her room to play with the bunnies, “Baby, was Lily planned?”
“Very planned.”
“Oh god. Do we have to talk about them planning a baby?” James throws his head back, groaning.
“So you and mom can plan a baby, but me and my husband can’t?”
“You just had a baby.”
“And I don’t remember having her,” Posie leans over to Jax, and finally James gets it. Sees that the majority of Posie’s pregnancy she didn’t get to fully enjoy, and then didn’t even know she had her daughter.
“I’m sorry, baby,” he says softly grabbing Iris’s hand. “You okay sharing being pregnant with your mother?”
“I mean, I have a really hot mom. So I don’t mind enjoying this with her. I know you guys always wanted a lot of kids. As long as she doesn’t mind sharing with Yiyi. She’s actually talked about Lily and you never knew?”
“To be fair, she talked about Yiyi fowur,” Posie gives her mom a little giggle, watching as she smiles so big up at her daddy. “We’re telling the rest of the family Sunday.”
“That’s when we were going to. Waited to make sure she was in the clear,” Jax looks only at Posie when he talks. “We were a bit scared that there might be a miscarriage, and then we just kept waiting. Enjoying with just each other.”
“Mimi knows,” Posie giggles.
“Mimi always knows,” Iris finally stands to walk over to her daughter, rubbing her hand over the bump she shouldn’t have missed. “Mimi has a gift.”
“And, she caught me folding clothes in a sports bra and Jax’s pajama pants. Kinda hard to hide a belly.”
Work has had me exhausted the last 2 days to the point where I couldn’t read before bed like I normally do. 😩 on the bright side, I’m off today…which means I can binge read everything I missed in the last 2 days!! 😏 I’ve missed all my favs!
Hopefully you don’t get too much snow by you, if you so, stay warm and safe ☃️🤍
Oh no! I hate weeks like that, where all you want to do is just get in the bed and pass out! There are a few fluffy moments from the past few days. And since there's going to possibly be snow...wanna peak into the Drysdale's as their older and how they choose to spend a snow day??

“What are you doing?” Ransom looks over at his son who walks through the house with his girlfriend and a few sleds. “Why are you here?”
“It’s supposed to come a snow storm, and I don’t want me and Lo to be stuck in the apartment,” He gives his parents a smile, setting the sleds down before walking back with two huge sets luggage.
“How long is this supposed to last? And who’s sledding?” Blade only smiles pulling you upstairs with him. “Steven Blade! Who is sledding?” he turns to look back at his wife, “Kitten?”
“Oh, Ran, he’s a big kid.”
“He has way too many clothes, and secrets,” he looks outside to see Iris and Story’s family vehicles pulling up at the same time. “Your daughters and their thirty children are here,” she only nods with a hum getting up to help them with, “Why are there so many bags of groceries? Kitten?”
She walks outside to give her daughters a hug, grabbing up the carrier for the youngest Baizen boy, and then helping the toddlers Thorne and Poppy out to walk, “Come on Papa, help Mimi get these babies in. There’s a lot of groceries, and bags to get.”
“Will someone just clue me into...” he stops when he sees Beck and Aster pulling in with another one of his babies. “What is going on?”
“Ransom!” Kitten shouts at him, “You’re scaring the babies.”
“Why are you all here?” Aster walks past giving her dad a cheek kiss as do the rest of his daughters, still not answering just walking in the estate with groceries and the men with the luggage.
“Papa! Grab that heavy bag, I can’t carry it,” Ellie points at a bag full of drinks.
“Ellie belly, I didn’t get the memo. What’s happening?”
She giggles up at her Papa, joined soon by Otto, “We’re staying in case the weather gets bad. Mom, and Ree, and Icy, and Blade said we should all be together. Now, get that bag.”
Ransom isn’t appalled at idea of his family and all their children being here. Welcomes the idea of having these special moments with his family. “Ewwie and me call sweeping in the bed with Wo and Bwade,” well there’s one couple that’s cockblocked.
“I just want people to not to touch me,” Posie screams back at Otto.
Walking the large bag into the kitchen, he places a chaste kiss on his wife’s cheek who is already slicing up vegetables for soup. Story cradling the newest, with Archer right by her side. “Give me that baby, Story book.”
“No,” she doesn’t even look at him. Just stares down at the sleeping newborn, offering sweet smiles and cheek kisses to Archer. Another one that’s cockblocked. She only has eyes for that baby, and he’s only a few weeks old. Now the other two.
“Story, I haven’t got to hold him.”
“Me, Papa,” Archer pouts up at Ransom, who picks him up. Clinging tight to him as he leaves the kitchen.
“Can I hold him Ree?” Beck bats his eyes at her. She gives Brooks a sweet kiss before handing him over to her brother-in-law.
“Enjoy it, while you can just give him back,” she answers with a wink, walking over to her mom grabbing a knife and assists her and her sister chopping up carrots. “So what’re we going to do first?”
“Soup,” Iris answers, scrapping her portion into the stock pot. “Then, Posie brought that thick yarn to do arm knitting with. Even brought her favorite aunt some pink yarn,” Posie leans forward giving Story a wink.
“Maybe the pink will rub off on you for the next time,” she giggles. Story just shakes her head. While she wants a girl, those four handsome boys are more than enough. Each of them, nearly a spitting image of the man she fell in love with. Mixed in with a bit of her father. “You do make pretty boys though. Mimi, I brought stuff to make marshmallows for your hot chocolate, can I go ahead and make them?” she tells her oldest grandchild, yes, and Posie runs off to fetch you. Needing her partner in crime to make the fluffiest of marshmallows.
Aster staying as far away from the kitchen as humanly possible. Thinking every time she walks into one she messes something up, so instead, she helps the men entertain the babies. Laughter and conversations from all over the estate. The rambunctious, almost twins of Otto and Ellie run in between the two rooms checking on everybody, and dramatically go from singing a Disney song, that Beck and Story join in on, or pretending to be knights.
Even a grumpy Ransom coming back pouting at his daughter about him not being able to Hold Brooks. Walking back in the family room to see the beefy Chris holding onto the newborn. “Don’t get any ideas. There’s enough of these kids. Just hold one,” he scolds the man.
The part that Aster can help, is designing the charcuterie board lunch. Laying out all the cheeses, meats, nuts, and spreads. Getting help from you and Posie as the three of you make it all pretty while the soup simmers.
Blade’s mom walks to the back door opening it up and taking a deep breath, “It’s almost here,” she sighs. “Come here,” Ransom goes to wrap an arm around her, while her walking grandbabies go to stand beside her. “Smell it?”
“You can weally smeww the snow?”
“She can, buddy. My Kitten has been smelling the snow as long as I’ve known her. And that’s been over thirty-six years.”
“Mimi, can we watch a movie after lunch?” Posie asks leaning her head up to peer at her.
“Of course sweet girl.”
After the short lunch, you and Blade grab ahold of Ellie and Otto, following the rest of the family in to watch a movie. Everyone all paired up and holding on to a kid. Posie retired to curl into her dad, legs draped over her mom who leans over on James as well. Letting Posie get the most attention for awhile. While Thorne and Poppy respectively sit with their Mimi and Papa. Beck buddied up with Zephyr, who kept getting death glares from Ellie for sitting with her Becks. While Archer stayed with Carter, until he was sneaking away to be with Chris and Lucy.
Story clings tightly to her newborn, nursing him through the first half of the movie. Basically falling asleep on Carter, who just rubs shapes on her shoulder. Letting her drift in and out as much as she needs too.
Halfway through the movie, Kitten stands with a sleeping Thorne to check outside coming back with a smile before cuddling up to Ransom. The snow had started. From the looks of it coming down good enough to trap you here for days. Just the way she had wanted.
After the movie, everyone grabs a barely awake kid, to sit in the sunroom, just watching the snow fall. Ransom lights the fireplace, making the room all toasty and cozy, asking for Posie to sing them a song. She bounds to get her guitar, and plays a couple of songs that she had been learning. The most beautiful and precious family time. Ruined only by her looking at Blade. “I think it’s time to sled.”
The few snow days were spent with children curled up into somebody’s bed. Even Posie came crawling into her parents room when she found out Thorne and Poppy were with Mimi and Papa. Beck and Aster had stolen an Archer, while Zephyr wanted to be in the dark room with Lucy and Chris.
During the day was spent sledding, and doing a random craft. Everyone making a blanket, and coloring. Helping bake cookies, and the famous hot chocolate with the homemade marshmallows. Together time. Even listening to Beck read an unpublished work from someone in such a calm and soothing way. Making it near impossible to stay awake.
Kitten leans into Ransom giving him a soft smile, and whispers in his ear, “I know it’s overwhelming at times, but I do love having everyone here.”
“Me, too, Kitten. We did this. You did this.”
“You too, my pretty boy. All our games, lead us to have a house full of our kids and grandchildren. Harlan would be so proud of you baby.”
“You too,” he whispers slotting his lips against hers. “I love you.”
I remember you did a drabble with Frank and Sugarplum babysitting the Drysdale kids, Can you do something with Frank taking all (those have been mentioned of yet) his Grandbabies on a boat ride or something. He would be so happy to have them around him.
Okay, so list of grandbabies; Posie 19, Thorne/Poppy 7, Oakley 4, Birdie Mae 4, Arlo 2, bit of a spoiler BUT Abel 4.
That's a lot of babies, that he couldn't handle by himself, so we're going to say it's not just him and Sugarplum, but Jax (23) and Posie as well. I don't think you guys understand the love that Frank has for his family. I know that we've seen a ton of angst with him, and it always seems he gets the shit end of the deal, but I promise you, he's so happy. He doesn't have to be in a large group of people. He's went on a few guys trips, but he's more than content to be with Sugarplum and a few of his grandbabies.

“They’re late,” Frank grumpily says to his wife, while his grandchildren wait patiently on the boat. “She’s never late. She’s late because she’s with that boy.”
“Oh, hush,” she tells him, holding Arlo on her hip. “Tell Pop Pop to stop it.”
“Top it,” Arlo points at him. Frank scrunches up his nose, and dives into Arlo’s neck, blowing raspberries on him, until the little boy pushes him away.
“You Beaumont Adler looking thing you. Ah, there she is!”
“Posie!” Poppy shouts, and Oakley runs over waving his hand at his sister’s new car. “I miss the other car.”
“It’s still bue,” Oakley tells her. Thorne doesn’t pay too much attention, but Frank grabs at his life jacket without looking when he tries to jump in the water, and Birdie Mae just laughs as her cousin gets a new little boy out of the car.
“That’s Posie’s baby?” the curious little girl asks her Pop Pop.
“Would people quit saying that. That’s Jax’s baby.”
“But...Jax is Posie’s?” Frank looks over at his wife for assistance, but she just walks up to Posie to give her a hug.
“Abel, have you ever been on a boat before?” he shakes his head no, and goes to hide behind Posie. “It’s okay. Your Pop Pop is a bit upset that you’re late.”
“We’ll talk about it later, and not in front of Abel,” she nods her head knowing that Wendy is the reason they’re late. Posie tugs the little boy along, weaving her fingers in Jax’s, but Frank looks towards his wife, when Poppy runs towards Jax. Allowing the man to pick her up.
“Did you know about that?” he asks her.
“Iris mentioned she was quite fond of the cute Jaxy. Let’s go old man. Thorne looks like he’s vibrating with energy. Keep him with you.”
“I’ll bring a leash next time,” Frank gets in his seat, pulling Thorne over with him to help ‘drive’, while his wife hands a life jacket over to Posie for Abel.
“There ya go,” she smiles at the blonde boy.
“What’s this?”
“This, is to keep your head above water. Me and daddy are going to have one, too, okay?” he gives her a smile, and Oakley and Birdie move to sit with her. Keeping Abel leaned up against her belly, and the other two on either side of her. Poppy sitting right in Jax’s lap and they lean over for a quick kiss.
“I can’t be mad,” Frank tells his wife as he starts the boat. “I thought that Iris grew up quick, then Beau. But that’s my granddaughter, and she’s got a boyfriend, and he’s got a kid, and she’s adjusting to step-motherhood well. And it’s a lot.”
“You’re doing good though. Just like you did with Icy and James.”
“Yeah, she came around more. Kids grow up, and they’re gonna fall in love,” he gives the pair of them another look. Surrounded by kids, and it looks easy. “It’s almost unfair her age difference. She’s got a brother that’s the same age as the kid she’s helping to raise.”
“I hate to say it,” Frank looks over at her, and Thorne pounds on his arm to look ahead. “She was made to be a young mother.”
Frank wants to growl at her, but he hears the cutest new little laughter, and looks up to see Oakley, Poppy, Abel and Birdie Mae giggling at whatever Jax and Posie are telling them. Giving each tickles. “Sugarplum?”
“Yes, sweetheart?”
“I miss when she called you Pummy.”
“She still does, Frank.”
“Not in that cute voice though. Poppy does it now. She looks beautiful like that,” she runs her fingers over his scruffy face, and even Arlo aggressively grabs at Frank’s messy grayed hair. “Did we just become great grandparents?”
“I think that’s what happened.”
Frank gives another look at Posie, giving the wild Thorne a kiss on the top of his head before looking at his wife. “He’s older than Arlo.”
“Our son waited a long time to have a baby. Iris didn’t, don’t compare the two. Now, find us a place to have a picnic, unless you want to eat on the boat and let the kids swim. She’ll be okay. She’s a good kid.”
we haven’t seen poppy and thorn 🥺🥺🥺 can we have some random moments with poppy, thorn, and papa throughout the years? 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Iris leans her head over on James’ shoulder as Ransom holds both Poppy and Thorne. His eyes shining down at the twins. Iris drifting off to sleep knowing that her little babies will be taken care of. Not to mention she’s just so comfortable on her husband.
Posie takes her fingers, squishing Thorne’s chubby cheeks, and looks up at Ransom smiling. “Do you remember when I was that little?”
“Oh, my sweet girl, I remember the day you were born. Just this tiny little thing. I had forgot how small babies could be. Everyone was excited about you being home. Always fighting over who would hold you.”
She smiles up at her dad before looking back down at her baby brother and sister. “They’re miracles, Papa.”
Ransom sitting at the table with two glass jars of freshly made baby food; one for Poppy and one for Thorne. Their toddler selves sitting in Bumbos, feeding them, while you cook supper. Thorne’s fists squeeze tightly together as he gives a little screech. Gritting his two teeth together, and getting a belly laugh from his twin. Her body jiggling at the fact that Papa isn’t feeding him fast enough.
“No sir. You’ve got to take turns. That was Poppy’s turn,” Poppy won’t even close her mouth over the spoon, making the orange substance squish out of her mouth. “Now, it’s Thorne’s turn.” When the food goes into Thorne’s mouth, he blows a big raspberry. Spewing the substance on Ransom who looks over to you. “Hawthorne Sterling Rogers,” he scolds, but when Thorne gives a dramatic pout Ransom’s own face softens.
“Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you buddy. You’re okay. No don’t,” one look at her brother, and Poppy starts her own pout, “No, no, Poppy not you too.”
“Aw, come here Thorne,” you pull up the chubby fellow out of his seat and start bouncing him. Slowly he calms down, and Poppy gives him a teared smile.
“How did you do it?” he asks you looking at the two of them, and you hum a hmm, questioning him. “Two of them. They’re always just there.”
“Well, Captain, when you don’t have a choice, you just make it happen.”
“How much longer until Iris picks them up?” you give him a questioning look, “You’re the one that brought up Captain.”
“Oh for Pete's sake, Ran. Are you ever not going to want to jump on the bed?”
Ransom stands out in the garden that his grandfather started all those years ago. New flowers and plants have continued to be added through the years. The newest hawthorn bushes and bright red poppies added to the mix. He sighs watching the two of his littlest grandbabies holding hands as they wobbly walk through the garden.
He takes a deep breath, and sips at his warm coffee when the two of them stop to give him a toothy smile, continuing to walk further away. Coming from behind you slide your hands around his back, resting them around his waist, and rest your chin on his shoulder. “I don’t think I tell you enough, Kitten, but thank you?”
“For what baby?”
“All these years. You didn’t have to choose me. Didn’t have to keep giving me babies. And now look, our daughters just keep having little rug rats, and your son has finally knocked someone up,” you give his little tush a pinch and he laughs. Tilting his head to the side he gives you a soft peck. “I love you and our life.”
“I love you, too, Ran. It was all worth it.”
“Yeah?” he asks, pulling you from behind him, to standing right by his side.
Cab we please have some glimpse of Rogers house with twins and old married couple?🙏😍

Iris has always known she loves James Carter Rogers. There’s no time in her memory where she didn’t want him to be in her life. She was unaware that she could love him more, than when she saw him with their daughter. James was timid, but one look at Posie, and he was hooked. Posie was a daddy’s girl through and through.
James stood right by Iris’s side through the many years of infertility. She always stressed out that this would be what caused him to leave. She was able to give him Posie, but he never got to experience pregnancy, or even birth. So when the surprise and miracle of their life happened, and she became pregnant, finding out she was not having one baby, but two, they were overjoyed. Discovering that they were having both a boy and a girl, she didn't realize how happy that was going to make her.
Every parent says they want a healthy baby, which is true, but Iris always wanted a mini James. Always wanted to have herself a mama’s boy. Have a bond like her mother and Blade had. And Hawthorne definitely was that. His little lip would pucker out if she was gone for two long. Almost like losing the scent of his mother was too much for his sensitive heart.
James would try his best, holding a twin in each arm, but until Thorne could hear her, or physically see her, it wasn’t enough. It was pitiful, but Iris loved seeing a flustered James holding onto a confused Poppy, while Thorne had the most pitiful, but fake cry.
The two of them would sit next to each other while they held them. And James soaked up every bit of his time with the twins. He didn’t want to miss a thing. Wanted to savor every moment, even if he was exhausted. He wanted to smell them, touch them, and be with them every moment.
When Iris started taking more days off, just to be with her babies, he did too. They got to spend time with each other, keeping their love alive, but also got to watch every minor detail of their growing twins. James was always pretending to nibble on some part of their body, blowing raspberries on their puffy bellies, or just burying his face in their neck, and smelling their sweet baby scent.
James loved being a dad, although he was worried about what Posie would think, she loved seeing her dad get what he always wanted. Posie may not remember her dad not being in her life, but she could see the change in his face from pictures to now. James Rogers loves his family. James wanted nothing more than to love on his children everyday. Handing a Poppy over to Iris, so he can spend one on one time with his biggest baby.
They both made sure that Posie got her special time with them. While Thorne and Poppy needed them, so did Posie. She would always comment that she had smothering parents, but she didn’t really think so. She fancied herself a bit independent, but when her mom or dad wanted just one of one time, her heart would swell with love.
Iris and James relationship was so playful, so when the twins started crawling, they made a game out of it. James sits on the floor, as Iris finishes cleaning up breakfast. He plays around with their feet, and Iris loves the sweet conversation. “Okay, I know that you two are mobile and you think you can go anywhere, but don’t, okay?” he waits to let the two of them respond. Blowing bubbles, or jabbering like crazy.
“That’s what I thought. When your mom is done, we’re gonna to play tag. You two are it and you gotta catch us. Does that sound fun?” he nods his head enthusiastically, getting a giggle and nods from both of them. Iris walks around the corner, and they both squeal. Thorne makes his grabby hands at her, his chubby little feet shuffling around. “Alright. Ready. Set. Go,” James jumps up, and sees them still sitting there. “Poppy, come get daddy. Come on.”
As soon as she starts crawling, Thorne is right there with her. Iris and James separate in the house, and the twins do as well. Poppy going after James, and of course Thorne after his mama. Squealing when he gets close enough, but then shrieks when Iris takes off again.
James doesn’t play that almost game, He jumps up on the couch, to where she can’t reach. Her chubby hand slaps at the cushion and screams up a, “No no.”
“Jamey Rogers! Off the couch Poppy said,” Poppy gives him a solid head nod, before he jumps over her. She gives off a growl before taking off after him again. James then starts playing with Iris. Giving her a smirk, before he starts chasing her. The two of them dodge the twins, jumping over furniture before James grabs Iris up by her waist.
Thorne squeals out a long, “MY!” before James falls down with the both of them. He plays dead, but won’t loosen his grip. The twins crawl over to them, but it’s Thorne that bonks James on the head, another, “My,” screaming out of his mouth.
“That is mine.”
“No.”
“Yes, this is my Iris,” she giggles still trying to get free.
“No.”
“Yes huh. Your mama, my Iris.”
Thorne takes a deep breath before saying another, “My.”
James grabs him up, holding a giggling Thorne over both him and Iris. Holding up her own arms up, Iris goes to reach for her mini James Rogers, grabbing him, and squeezing him oh so tightly, while Poppy leans over covering James face. “Okay, okay. You two win. Mama and I lose.”
When you’re back to posting the Drysdale’s will you write about Aster and Iris? It’s been a while since we’ve read about the twins and their relationship especially once they’re older and have their own kiddos (and their own twins)! Thank you!
Of course!! We haven't seen the twins interacting much since being older, at least just them two. We also haven't seen the official birth of Atlas and Orion. For reference, Thorne and Poppy are 3, Atlas and Orion are 2.

"Oh this is gonna be messy,” Aster comments as Iris brings in the dye and shirts for tie dye. “Good thing you got a big back yard. But first...”
“Coffee,” Iris finishes. Already watching her twin brewing up some coffee. Moving around the kitchen almost effortlessly. Listening to the Thorne, Poppy, Atlas, and Orion run through the house. Iris looks over at Aster grimacing. She normally doesn’t do well with the running around the house and screaming business.
“Want something stronger?” Iris asks. Aster looks at her oddly, “Wine? You want some wine?”
“It’s eleven o’clock in the morning. No,” Thorne runs through shooting a nerf gun at his mom, until he’s back to running out. Poppy walks in reaching her arms up to Iris.
“Boys too loud. Send them with Daddy.”
“Orion is usually,” Aster stops when her sweet boy walks in to wrap his arms around her legs. “See. Orion, I think you and Poppy are more alike. You let your noisy brother and Thorne play together. I’ll take the sweet ones,” she gives Iris a smile who shakes her head.
“I thought you wanted more kids,” she tells Aster who shrugs. “Atlas acts just like you. Dramatic and wild.”
“Ugh, that’s rude. I was not wild. I’ll admit I’m dramatic, but I think he takes after Beck,” Orion giggles shaking his head. “We can’t gang up on mommy. Give me a kiss buddy,” Orion holds both sides of Aster’s cheeks, squeezing them real hard before planting a kiss on her. “Yep, you act like me.”
“No, not. I daddy,” Aster gives him a soft kiss to his head, “Coffee!”
“You give him coffee?” Iris asks shocked.
“No, I give him a sip. Atlas, gets no coffee. That kid needs little to no sleep. We made the mistake of giving him a sip once, huh, Beck?” Orion gives his mama a giggle when she calls him after his dad, and makes grabby hands to the cup that Iris hands over to her sister. “One sip, and don’t tell bubba.”
The women finish up their coffee and gather up the kiddos to take outside. Laughing at their toddlers who just make a complete mess. Sitting back just letting them take the sloppy lead. The both of them sure that their masterpieces will be a muddied mess, but they don’t care.
Aster relaxes with being outside with the noise. Things aren’t nearly as obnoxiously loud, and she smiles at her rowdy Atlas, painting his own clothes with the dye. Poppy mostly sat with Iris. Outnumbered with the boys that’s running around.
Finishing up, they bring the kids in to wash up, and for a nap. No surprise Orion snuggled up on Aster’s chest, Atlas right beside her leaned over. While Thorne stretched out on the lovesac, reaching up to hold Iris’s hand. Poppy asks Iris one more time when her daddy was coming home because she needed him, before popping her thumb in her mouth and drifting off to sleep holding onto her mouse stuffie, curled up next to her bubba.
“How about that wine now? You look exhausted,” Iris comments. Aster shakes her head no looking down at her two boys that stay snuggled up to her.
“No, I’m good right now. I may fall asleep though.”
Iris reaches over, taking her sisters hand in hers, doing what would appear to be thumb war, but is a secret handshake all their own. Ending with kissing their fist. “Then go to sleep, Azzie.”
From the start Iris is shown as motherbear type but now as a adult she always seem busy and occupied by her work?
Aw...no, she adores her family. I mean went years through treatments to get the twins. Really the only interactions we've seen of Iris have been her in business mode. But have no fear, she like Aster shuts the office down when she walks out. As soon as she gets in her car, she's done. She wants family time. She wants to see her children grow, because she wanted all of them so bad. So let's take a bit of a peak into their family life. Just the five of them, and no work.

“Hey, can you hand me that baby,” Iris points over to he mustard, and Posie smiles handing it to her mother. Iris scrunches up her nose, and brings her oldest baby closer to her, “Have I told you lately, that I love you.”
“Mom...stop.”
“Have I told you there’s no one else above you?”
“Please don’t,” she looks over to see James around the corner with a twin in each arm. “No. Don’t do it.”
“Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness. Ease my trouble that’s what you do,” her dad sings dancing around with Thorne and Poppy, followed by Dodger, who goes and sits in his spot. His big brown eyes staring up at Posie like he knows how ridiculous the two of them are.
“You two are so embarrassing,” she can’t be embarrassed long when James leans over to give his wife a kiss. “Hand me a baby, and put the other in the walker, so you can get your butt rubs.”
“Jamey!”
“I didn’t say it, your daughter did.”
“Mom, you do this every morning, and I’m usually here. I notice your butt rubs,” she grabs Poppy to place in a walker, before getting her smiley little brother, Dodger following the three out of the kitchen, and giving the old married couple a bit of privacy.
“About my butt rubs,” James stands behind Iris, both hands on her hips, when she swirls her ass on his crotch. Arching her back, to get more control. Gyrating all over him, before he pulls her tight against his chest. “Some things never change, Baby doll,” his lips connect to her neck, and she gives a soft mewl. “Just like we’re in high school. You wanna put on that cheer uniform again. You haven’t flipped on my dick...” she gives his stomach a bit of an elbow. “Yeah, I deserved that. I still think your hot as hell.”
“And I still think you’re the stud of the school. Definitely nobody’s aged better than you. But keep it in your pants, we’re going on a picnic with our babies.”
He picks her up, slinging her over his shoulder and she lets out a scream, “I have found the one I want!” Iris bites his butt hard, giving it a little slap, “Ouch, you heathen. Posie! Let’s load up the car baby. I’ve got the biggest one.”
“Jamey, we haven’t finished packing the lunch put me down.”
“Haven’t...why haven’t you?”
“Butt rubs. Put me down,” he sets her down, just to give her a spin around, and dips her. “Alright, you’re excited I get it.”
“I’m glad that you’re only doing the three days a week now. Here, let me help you. Posie girl!” Posie walks in with both babies following her in walkers now, Dodger bringing up the rear. “Play us a song.”
She sprints up to her room, to get her guitar, sitting on the chair and starts singing Big Yellow Taxi, accompanied by James and a babbling Thorne and Poppy. Iris mostly hums, finishing up their picnic lunch. Packing it up in the giant picnic basket James and Poppy picked out for her for Christmas. Grabbing up a rolling cooler for drinks, and plenty of snacks for her babies, James included before they head out in his truck.
Iris constantly looks back at her little loves, carrying on a conversation about Posie’s friends at school. Her fingers woven tightly with Jamey’s. The two of them enjoying what they created all those years ago. Knowing that no matter what, nothing could separate them. Together their whole lives. First as friends, and then as something more beautiful than dating. Even in high school, everyone knew that they were something special.
The whole day the five of them just enjoying one another, running around with a twin strapped to their front, listening to Posie playing her newest song. Letting the twins nap on their chests, while the three of them stare up at the clouds. “What about that one,” Posie points at a extra fluffy one.
“Cotton candy.”
“Daddy, you’re not even trying.”
“A dream of a little boy who saw a girl and a dog, and knew that she was going to be his best friend for life.”
Iris closes her eyes shaking her head, “There is no way you remember that.”
“Fine, a little girl in a fluffy pink dress. And I do remember just wanting to do that weird kid dancing with you all night.”
“I am never getting married.”
“Why not? Your dad and I have so much fun. And have the cutest kids.”
“Because, that whole sleeping in the bed with someone, or sticking your tongue in their mouth, not for me. You can keep it,” James gives her a big nod in agreeance.
“Well, you may change your mind. And it’s okay if you don’t. You’re still a pretty cool kid,” leaning over she gives her daughter a forehead kiss. Everyone giggles with Thorne passes gas in his sleep. “Just like his daddy.”
Can we please get a glimpse of Sarah meeting Posie, Poppy and Throne?🥰
Sarah Rogers 🥺 she's going to be like a mother to a few of the characters. And she wont' be living in Brooklyn for long. Harlan himself becomes quite fond of her as well, I mean, someone had to teach Kitten how to cook. Sarah ADORES James and Iris, and of course her great grandchildren. I'm going to say that Sarah had Steve when she was very young, so she's a young grandmother/great-grandmother.

Iris gives a tearful look down to Posie, such a bittersweet moment for her. She looks over her baby face and sees Jamey in every part of her. For someone to have never met their father, Iris swears she makes the same facial expressions. This was the first time she had truly been left alone. You had to grab a few things from the estate for her and Posie girl, and she was left to her thoughts, and the precious memories she has of Jamey.
Sarah peeks her head in the hospital room, and smiles at the young girl that had captured her grandson’s heart so fully. “You mind if I come in?”
“Of course not,” Sarah stands over the baby in Iris’s hands, giving the pretty little thing some cooing words. “Posie Sarah Rogers, I want you to meet your great grandma.”
Sarah’s foggy eyes become even more watery when Iris finally reveals the baby’s full name to her. Iris knew it was the right call. James loved his Nana, and she did too. Had told her stories about New York, taught her mom how to cook, and was there for a few of their births. Always quick to volunteer and babysit, and enjoyed spending time with Harlan, even if he was a flirt.
“Can I?” Iris nods and hands the little bundle to Sarah, “Oh my, aren’t you just the prettiest thing. You look so much like your daddy,” Sarah stops so quickly putting her hand on Iris’s shoulder, “Oh, sweetheart, I’m so sorry.”
“No, it’s okay,” Iris responds wiping tears off her cheek. “She does. Every time I look at her I see another part of Jamey. I can’t wait for him to meet her.”
Sarah is one of the few people who doesn’t just look at James missing in a practical sense. She believes in every fiber of her being that he will come home, “You’re right. There’s nothing in the world that could keep that boy from you, and I just know that he feels that there’s another piece of his heart walking around, well being held. One day you’ll walk Posie girl. But lets wait until your daddy get home, okay?”
Sarah was the positive one during this time. Would make sure that you and your family were fed and taken care of. Helping in anyway possible. Even getting her own room at the estate for that duration. She loved that little baby, it had been so long since there was a baby, so she reveled in getting to spoil her.
When Iris found out she was pregnant, James had already made it clear to Ari that he was going to be taking a lot more time off. He didn’t want to miss anything. And when the twins were born, he was taking as much time off from work as Iris was. He didn’t want to leave Ari or Beau in a bind, but he needed to make sure that Posie still continued to get lots of attention, and that Iris had plenty of help with the twins.
So when Sarah walked in to see Iris nursing Poppy, and James sitting there shirtless, his finger softly rubbing up and down Thorne’s back, while Posie was taking a nap on his leg, it didn’t surprise her. She loved watching James and Iris together. Always commenting if there was ever two people in love, it was them. She was the one that coined them the old married couple. Spending basically their whole life together, and still so happily in love.
Made it through a rough patch, even when James was staying at Carter’s, him and Iris had an all night FaceTime call. Sarah had told them not to go to bed angry with one another. Sometimes James didn’t even make it through the night before he was driving home just to hold his Baby Doll. “James he’s so handsome,” Sarah cooed down at her newest grandbabies. “He’s a pretty big boy for a twin isn’t he?”
Iris gives her a sleepy smile and nods. “You look good sweetheart. How’re you feeling?”
“Tired. I do have the best baby daddy though,” James looks up long enough from Thorne to blow her a kiss. “Jamey?” Iris’s voice trails off. Wanting to tell him how thankful she was to have him by her side the entire time. So often James had felt guilty about being here for the twins and not Posie, everyone of course reassured him, it was never his fault. Even Posie. Iris just can’t put anything into words.
“I know Baby Doll, I know. Nana, you wanna hold this big boy?”
“I’m not taking my top off,” James would never think about rolling his eyes at his Nana, but he did give her a smile, holding up the squeaking Thorne, “Oh my, you’re so handsome Thorne. He’s a perfect little combination of both of you. Whew,” she wipes away her tears lookin at the little boy. “I had hoped you would look just like your daddy, like Posie girl, but oh, you’re perfect.”
Sarah walks over closer to Iris after she moves Poppy up to burp. “Oh, what a tiny little thing. I bet she takes after you, doesn’t she?”
“That’s what mom and Pops said,” Iris brushes her finger over Poppy’s cheek, and presses a gentle kiss on her forehead, “I haven’t stopped crying,” adding his shirt back on, James walks over to Iris, his own hands taking in his wife’s beautiful appearance. “Thank you, Jamey. Thank you so much for our life.”
“I should thank you.”
“You two, are just so sweet. Both of you stop, before I start crying,” she watches as her grandson leans over, and kisses his wife’s head ever so gently, stopping at his newest daughter to give her a kiss as well. “Oh, all these grandbabies are keeping me young. Whew, I’m thanking you both.”
