I was downtown last night and felt like having a stop-in at The Dubliner on Fourth Avenue, one of the Irish bars in The Gaslamp. I'm usually a beer guy and not a mixed drink dude but had a $10 Jameson whiskey cucumber type cocktail. Images from an ongoing series on The Golden Ace Inn, an old Irish Bar in Indianapolis and one of my favorite places for a low key drink and good conversation. Opened by an irish family in the 1930's just four months after prohibition (and when the neighborhood was much nicer), the same family still owns it today. Though very much a dive bar the place can't be beat for history, good stories, and welcoming people.
