but his LGC costume is ICONIC. (lol idk i don’t have any deep thoughts about the program...it might not show him off at his best, but at least he looks like he has fun doing it?)

why do people call shoma dos LOCO? btw i love the uno-dos pun, this fandom never ceases to impress me

i didn’t come up with the shoma dos pun, just clarifying! also “loco” comes from the woman singing “LOCO LOCO LOCO” over and over in his free skate this season. it means “crazy” in spanish, which is appropriate.

Ok, let's stop talking about Nathan and Yuzuru, why don't we talk about how well our little Shoma did it at 4CC?? I'm so proud of him right now

fucking...........axels................but hey, at least he finally did a decent SP and has a 4CC medal now. -____- mainly i’m just happy he didn’t sacrifice any of his choreo to put an extra quad in the FS, because that was something i was really worried about. i hope the original choreo (AND COSTUME) stay for worlds as well.

i feel like a bad figure skating fan because i still dont know how to differentiate the jumps, to me they happen fast and i dont really pay attention to details. im lame i know

bruh it’s fine, you can still enjoy skating without knowing the jumps. i didn’t even bother learning the jumps for an entire season when i first got into skating.

Random question that I don't know if anyone's asked before. Why did you name yourself eggplant? Cuz... Yeah. Curiosity

lol idk it was a long time ago...people ask me this all the time and i don’t really have an answer, it just sounded good at the time??? and now it’s my ~brand~. also i picked the name before IOS emojis existed, how could i know what the eggplant emoji represents now, rip

Haha, I chose stars so you could pick between space and celebrities :) Oh my god I would have DIED at any of those interactions. I met Nichelle Nichols and Christopher Lloyd last year for photo ops, so it was super fast but my god they were both amazing and wonderful and I just about cried after meeting Nichelle. It's such a thrill and inspiration meeting celebrities you admire.

For this one I’m sure you meant stars as in space, but since I did a space one below, I’m gonna go with stars as in celebrities!

So I have only been to three conventions. Two of ‘em were anime conventions here in CO and they were...fine? But I was also in HS so I hardly even remember them.

The best one of my life, though, was Dragon Con in Georgia in... gosh, 2012 I think? Baby and I were still dating long distance at the time, and it was my “congrats on attempting student teaching” present to myself before I realized student teaching was going to be the literal worst thing.

ANYWAY, we met the coolest people! John Barrowman, whose smile in-person is LITERAL SUNSHINE like I think I got a sunburn just from standing near him too long??? Felicia Day, I met in a bathroom, which was closer than I ever expected to get to her?? Jonathan Frakes either hit on me or doesn’t know how to compliment people; Sabastian Roche called us both “Dahling” and tried for a Southern accent, which was hilarious; AND we had lunch at the table next to the cast of True Blood, which was my SHIT at the time. 

It was such a great convention. We’re trying to save up the money to go to another one someday. :)

Hi there! I'm new to the figure skating fandom, and your blog(s) have been amazingly helpful! Can I ask, what is the s(quad) you refer to in some of your posts? I've scrolled back to find some info, and I think it's made up of Shoma, Boyang and Nathan?? But I don't know if I'm missing something. Thank you for all the info you give!!

welcome to skating, hope you’ve been having fun! :D haha yeah we call shoma, nathan and boyang the FUCK YOU UP S(QUAD) (courtesy of @theyoungprinceandprincess), aka. the s(quad) for short, because they’re around the same age and they’ve been at the forefront of the ~quad revolution~ in men’s skating for the last year or so. if you’re interested, i wrote some intro posts for them before the grand prix: shoma, boyang, nathan. they’re a little bit outdated now but still have some useful background info, i think!

i stopped watching sometime in like... 2009 or 2008 so i only really have vague knowledge of what happens after the gaara arc in shippuden probs??? like i know of things that happened but not like why or when or how
