Where we left off with the front half of the season, I cannot imagine how this ship is going to sail. Unless we *really* now in the enemies-to-lovers arc. (RIP in any case to my emerging JohnClown ship⚔️🤡🤡.) And so far in the show I have to concede the person Riri Williams has at least *romantic* chemistry with, is Xavier. (Protect that boy at all costs — we should not have to resurrect another Washington sibling through artificial intelligence.) I guess the most I can hope for is that after thunderbolts asterisk the MCU does not revert to its bad habit of unceremoniously killing off villains or antagonists — keep Parker Robins alive in whatever state — but all this intentional marketing for a show nobody was ever going to see apart from MCU superfans (I say as an MCU superfan)? We better get some pay-off on something💘.

WHAT IF

It’s after the events of the show, Parker is cleaning up the place and basically trying to get his life back in order now that Mephisto doesn’t talk or contact him anymore. He’s alone, he doesn’t do the things he used to

He kinda goes into a routine, develops heavy depression, builds up very high walls

Then Riri comes stumbling in, basically begging him to help her get rid of her contract with Mephisto, and that she can help get rid of his as well, and it has to be him because of whatever reason

So there’s them begrudgingly teaming up, but there’s also a mini twist

Mephisto is using the revived Natalie to spy on Riri, seeing through her eyes what Riri is doing

Zelma is also there, helping remove the dark magic from everyone’s system

Over time as Parker and Riri work together, they have some heartfelt moments, times where they relate, and boom. They fall in love

This would have a good ending, obviously there would be a big fight of sorts, maybe Mephisto taunting Parker and saying he can bring John back and that Parker could also rule hell if he turns on Riri, which could leave there to be a separate little timeline of events where Parker silently debates if the power and the way things used to be is worth it for what he’s building now

Ironhood works so well because they’re so alike and they would be so toxic together that it would flip on itself and actually be perfect for each other’s problems
