He's shaking and crying over the thought of losing her
This is the best
Ok but also can we talk about how often Ryland Grace cries?
He cries when he is happy.
He cries when he is sad.
He cries when he is scared.
This is beautiful. He is the co-saviour of two entire planets. He is the superest of super heros. And he's just a normal guy. He is a SCIENTIST and a TEACHER. He is humble and filled with doubts and insecurities, he is terrified of doing something wrong and he is very emotional about that all of the time and I think that is beautiful.
Thank you Andy Weir for giving us this wonderful hero, and thank you Ryan Gosling for bringing him to life in such a poignant and human way.
... Rocky and Adrian want to keep Grace barefoot and pregnant. statement.
Watched Project Hail Mary and Iron Lung, expected Project Hail Mary to be the one that I liked more (on account of the strong platonic bond between Rocky and Grace) but Iron Lung actually has me in such. Such a chokehold.
Like??? Not even just the base fact that Simon wants to live, but the way that he's so full of Life. He makes fatal mistakes, he killed a bunch of people (unclear?), he needs to hear someone talk, he does everything everything everything to live and when he knows he can't make it out he tries to save others in one final 'Fuck you'.
Hes so resitant and stubborn and strong willed its beautiful his entire being screams "IWillLiveIWillLiveIWillLive" he fulfils his life's purpose he becomes the soil for a tree he is Life.
He never never never loses hope, like he gets put through the ringer but his fire is always there and its so ferocious that it lights up the screen.
Even though this was a horror movie (which I did not know bc I tried watching the movie blind. I figured out it was a horror when the blood ocean came into play), there's so much hope in Iron Lung. It doesn't matter that there's barely anyone left alive, they still need to be saved and it doesn't matter that 'not everyone can be saved' because everyone deserves to be saved (even if its not explicitly said I'm pretty sure that's the underlying message?).
Simon's death is obvious, he's a living corpse from the second he's sealed in the SM-13, which is just reinforced when we see his corpse. We know he's dead, the COI know he's dead and honestly he figures out he's dead but it doesn't matter because he'll do anything and everything to live.
Yes Iron Lung was incredibly eerie and gory and Ellie scared the absolute hell out of me at some points and I did not recognise the sapling at first but. To me its a celebration of life. Life is so precious and it just makes you fall.in love with being alive
Big fan of Edgeworth going from Never show yourself here again, to I'm going to charter a plane for you
neil, while calling kevin a coward: has an entire stalker binder about him and knows every small detail about him and would kill riko for him no questions asked
kevin, while insulting neil's exy skills: he's gonna be a great fucking exy player if its the last thing i do
