Wouldn't Solar and Anubis technically be brothers? Since Solar is just Iblis reincarnated and Anubis is Mephiles.

Anubis and Solar's consciousness are completely separated from Iblis and Mephiles'. It is more-so their powers being trapped within these kids' bodies, rather than them being the kids; unlike with Roxanne whom is the reincarnation of Light Gaia.

After the main events of the Sol Empire. Iblis' mind gets trapped within the Sol Emeralds and the powers from Iblis stay within Solar. Anubis has DNA from Mephiles (and Infinite but that is not important in answering your ask) and therefore has acted as a host to contain his mind and soul, much like the Sol Emeralds have done to Iblis. They do stay stuck together, but they are not the same.

There is definitely a possibility to draw Mephiles and Iblis' mind and powers out of Anubis and Solar; and the Sol Emeralds to reform Solaris as a whole! But as stated above, Solar and Anubis are two very separate characters with their own lives, thoughts, wants and needs. Who have had Iblis and Mephiles guiding them, even if said guiding hasn't been the most positive, to enhance their own desires.

Years ago, a friend of mine told me that liberals know that they're racist nationalists, that it's not just that they end up being so by dint of naivety.

but they're not ignorant at all, and my friend was right.

I'd say they're in league with the maga, but that's not it. You control them. You sculpt, manipulate, and instruct the maga.

The way I tell the difference between a well meaning ignorant dupe and a lying blue magat is simple: how do they feel about policing as an entire institution. It's not only support for slave catchers, it's the way they justify it.

Look at their word choices. How they cheer for the deaths of the children of red magas - their servant class. How they choose the timetable for another person's right to resist their own destruction.
