I have a few questions about Moonshado elves. Before you get all secretive, my country signed an Outer Space treaty saying that and military or hostile force is illegal on other worlds. Pretty much only scientist are allowed to do anything with the planets. Anyway, my questions are; 1. What is your medicine like? 2. How exactly does the illusion barrier work. 3. How do you know what the weather is going to be like if you don't have satilites?
Well now I also have questions, little shadow... Travel to other worlds?
...Why?
Is something wrong with the one you have?
I suppose it will start no wars to tell you that our medicine is highly nature-based. The magic of Xadia infuses all life with benefits to those who care for and understand that life. Berries, leaves, stems, roots, casings, wings, scales, springwaters, seeds, pods, and various gooier substances all can have medicinal applications, if you know what you're doing.
The difference, you see, between Moonshadow medicine and dark magic is that the rule for the first is the exception for the second: we do not kill what we harvest. We leave it to grow again, because what we take can be grown again.
Yes, there are exceptions on both sides. Yes, opportunism is something that Moonshadow elves can and do embrace, just as humans do. But naturally, I have a strong preference.
You wish to know how our village illusions protect us? *Moonshadow smirk* Ask a Moonshadow elf to teach you to dance, and you will see.
A weather question? I use my horns to tell the weather, like any good elf. If you had horns, you could sense the weather's changes, too, I assume. Do these satellites you speak of have horns on them? I wonder if Ethari might try to build one - a horned sensor for weather alerts. This could be useful indeed. I must tell him. He gets so excited when I manage to suggest something he could craft.
Thank you for the inspiration, and... thank you for not starting an interstellar war. Very civilized of you.
waking up in the evening/night is so darkly dreamy, your time is acting so limited and endless. it's creepily serene, you're alone and awake with the knowledge that you won't be disturbed for a while. you enter Sleebdy... mode, tired but rested, undisturbed for hours in the dark, your room luminated by the glow of lights outside, peeking through your curtains and the bright light of your phone.
unfinished work or snacks left out, teeth unbrushed, awoken in a not quite right sleep position, drool on your face and indent marks left by the sheets and day clothes you fell asleep in. hair undone, throat dry, the lingering reminder that something isn't finished.
it's dark and quiet, still. the moon and stars have rolled in, lights in windows off, you stare outside, in need for weak stimulation that isn't from a device. sinking back into your bed, you read and watch for hours or maybe just a few minutes, you won't know the difference until you check the clock. the covers are so welcoming and cozy, protecting you from it all
mmm my phone doesn't update so I don't have the dark Tumblr but now I'm here on my laptop and it is really dark I can see why you were all complaining
