For the fic premise: I can imagine a fic where Mac and Jack are stranded somewhere far from ex-fil (or maybe Afghanistan) and have a trek to get to safety. Except Mac is injured and Jack has done his best with his field first aid kit but Mac is getting worse and develops a fever. He keeps soldiering on, but Jack wonders just how much longer he can keep this up...
Oh yeah. Oh yeah y’all know me and it’d be scary, but for the joy these are bringin’. oof!
Because this would require... a belt loop hold, Jack’s gotta keep one hand free for his weapon after all. *dies of image* Jack’s holding more and more of Mac’s weight. He can feel the heat coming off him. Jack’s giving him more of the water rations than he should. And he knows they’re in trouble because Mac doesn’t notice he’s doing it. Mac just keeps apologising for being sick. *wibble*
And... maybe... maaaaybe... Mac eventually gets so weak, Jack is carrying him the last few miles to the exfil. And Mac’s pov is all foggy and pain-filled and Jack’s voice murmuring apologies and promises. And then there are hands pulling him away from Jack and he’s distressed(TM). ajksdjalsjdak *is ded*
