Bridgerton dismisses Mary Wollstonecraft because she does not "sufficiently value love".

Bridgerton is now officially sexist, misogynist, anti feminist bullshit.

Dismissing one of the most significant proto feminist writers of the Regency Era because she does not "sufficiently value love" isn't even weak, feeble feminism anymore it is full on anti-feminist rhetoric.

Don't tell me Bridgerton isn't sexist propaganda, when one of the patriarchy's favourite talking points is that feminists are unlovable, and that women who protest against the patriarchy need the love of a good man to fix them.

I know this show is a romance and love is the endgame, but they didn't need to bloody well introduce feminism or Wollstonecraft into the show at all. They brought these things into the narrative, built up their importance for Eloise, simply to dismiss them and have Eloise outgrow them once she's ready for "love".

This show is the most sexist, repulsive, insidious trad wife propaganda on television, and the fact it sells itself as progressive just makes it all the more insidious.

This plotline makes me so uncomfortable because what do you mean that the sperm donor is the one who should have had the kid all along? And what do you mean that he's naturally better suited and more understanding because he's blood-related and recognizes certain traits? That's so offensive to anyone using sperm donation to build a family that is neither inherently dysfunctional nor temporary. There's already a lot of stigma around non-traditional families, and this storyline just increases that stigma. Is this the "blood doesn't make you family" show or the "actually, blood is the most important part of what makes you family" show? The writers put the story together in a way that would make the audience root for Buck to get custody of someone else's child because he and the child happen to share DNA. That's absolutely bonkers logic in 2026. You can enjoy Buck with a kid and also be empathetic to people who are uncomfortable with how he got the kid, especially if you're someone who has cared about the messages the show sends in the past.

So I understand there’s a celebratory challenge for 40 years of tmnt called “tmaynt”

I have been made aware by a friend on insta that the creator of the challenge mikasleaf is Tmnt 2012 leo*ai shipper and they are fully aware that leo and karai are a toxic relationship regardless of the incest or not. Which is disgusting in its own right.

(If you continue to do the challenge that’s fine I understand it’s ment to be a fun challenge for lovers of tmnt, not hating on you for that :)
