#2359#chase eagleson#fire and rain#james taylor#it’s a small thing#but one of my enduring memories#is how#in the days after 9/11#it came out that a major radio network#had banned certain songs from being played#and this was one of them#and that gave me pause#I didn’t think it was right#I felt like we needed emotional solace and catharsis#and denying us this song in that moment#wasn’t a wise choice#it was a sign#of a whole series of unwise choices to come#I’m not sure it’s fair to burden the song with that memory#but that’s how the wires are connected#for me#also#this cover gets extra points#for being filmed during the dawn chorus#def. an amro in there#maybe a sosp?#lots of others I didn't catch
