Takes place post-Sacrifice and contains SPOILERS. 

Pupil. Master. Child. Tenno. It changes nothing.

The Operator in front of him is only one thing.

Perhaps this has been the truth of what they’ve felt all along. Only they’ve kept it hidden from the world around them, like the stubborn child he had met on the mountain. They buried every emotion beneath a facade. Hid from their beloved Lotus, from their strange ship Cephalon, from him. And now that their Lotus has abandoned them, he is among the few that’s left. It must be why they’ve returned after so long. Teshin can only watch as the Tenno kneels on the floor, struggling to contain themselves.

He lowers himself to the ground, cautiously placing a safe distance between himself and his pupil.

Fear.

It’s in their eyes, flickering wildly and brimming with panic. It’s overtaken their lungs, forcing them to breathe in shallow, rapid, breaths. It’s possessed their entire being, convincing them that this is all they have ever known.

The Operator in front of him is only one thing. An animal overcome with agony and grief. 

He is filled with the urge to act. To fight an invisible enemy in their place. He knows he cannot. He knows that the Operator must fight their own battles.

“Tenno.” Teshin says, slowly. “Tell me what’s wrong.”

His voice snaps the Tenno out of their momentary paralysis. They look up at him with reddened eyes. As if the sight of him had awakened something, the Tenno grimaces with renewed pain, remembering. Their hand shoots up to cover the ugliness of their expression. It’s only a moment before that’s not enough, and they throw themselves at him, arms encircling his neck in a tight and fearful embrace.

Teshin freezes.

He had never been one to comfort. He was never the one someone else turns to in need of refuge. They must be desperate for anything that even vaguely resembles it. After an eternity, Teshin gathers the Tenno up in his arms. He is rarely uncertain. The Tenno’s outburst re-acquaints him with the feeling.  One hand gently rests on the back of the Operator’s head, the other lays on their back as they take gasping breaths.

“Tenno.” He says again. “What--”

“It’s...I…Isaah.”  They choke out. “I did this to him. I killed him, Teshin.”

Isaah? The name is distant and unfamiliar. Had he ever heard it before? He stays silent, waiting for elaboration, for anything.

“He would have been like you.”

Strong. Proud. Wise. Dutiful. They can barely bring themselves to think about everything he could have been.

Teshin gives the Tenno a solemn look, but it’s hidden by his helmet. He had somehow been the inadvertent cause of this, as he had suspected. The moment the Tenno laid eyes on him, something in their entire demeanor had changed, until it slowly devolved into...this.

He had never seen the Tenno so afraid. So vulnerable. He’s thankful that no one else is around to bear witness, for their own sake. Their pride would not have survived the blow. But in this moment, they seemed to care for only one thing.

“My beloved, Isaah.” They whisper. “He...he would have been just like you.”

Teshin can only hold them close until the sobbing subsides. They are like an animal.

Lost. Vulnerable. Confused. 

And he wants nothing more than to take away it’s pain.

Isaah x Orokin S/O

- You two would live a forbidden Love because the Orokin don't want Dax to interbreed with Orokin.

- You often meet during the Night. Often on a Spacecraft

- Sometimes you two meet during the day since Isaah is your Fathers Bodyguard.

- Once you two were caught by Ballas. Strangely Ballas never mentioned it. (Due to his plan involving Isaah and his Dad)

- You two planned to run away and marry one day.

- Your plans were crushed by Isaahs death after which you became bitter and much more sad than ever before

- You never married or loved again as Isaah was the love of your life.

- During the eventual Massacre of the Orokin by the Tenno you didn't run. You welcomed it.

- After the blackness faded you heard a familiar voice

- When your vision cleared you were standing on what seemed to be infinite plains of grass.

- In front of you: Isaah.

- Giving you a soft smile he said: I waited so long. Finally you are here my Love

- After a life of secrets, death, darkness qnd depression you two now have a bright future. One that never ends.

- Together
