@isappho put me on their blocklist when tumblr glitched and caused it to appear like i blocked them after they asked me about something related to antisemitism. when i clarified that i remembered i may have blocked them on one of my sideblogs for pluralantagonism/anti-system ableism, they then blocked me, and called me a sysmed.

i am not a sysmed. i am triggered by system gatekeeping. i am a pro-endogenic, anti system gatekeeper, host of a traumagenic system who told isappho that it was wrong that they asserted, while identifying as a singlet, that DID, a mental disorder that has been proven to be caused by trauma, didn’t need trauma.

i fully believe that systems can exist without trauma, will defend systems without trauma to my dying breath, and literally have system gatekeepers/anti-endogenics on my do not interact because they have harassed me. what i asserted to isappho is that DID specifically needs trauma - because that is the reality of the DISORDER. the DISORDER specifically needs TRAUMA, and this has been shown in the research that surrounds it. isappho, this is NOT how you stand up for endogenic systems, by telling a man who literally has a disorder that he’s a system gatekeeper for trying to explain to you how his disorder works. having a system =/= having DID, DID is a disorder that happens under certain circumstances and is a specific experience. and now, i, someone who went through that experience, got blocked for calmly explaining.

full screenshots of what i said to isappho regarding this are under the cut, because it upsets me deeply that isappho is choosing to do this and tell their audience i’m a sysmed with zero context whatsoever.

these are the posts from october of 2020 relating to isappho (who labeled as a singlet at the time but is currently questioning plurality) claiming that DID did not need trauma and anyone who said it did was a system gatekeeper. the original post that seems to have started this discussion may have been deleted, but what happened is that this singlet added a system to their blocklist page for what i just mentioned.

at the time, isappho repeatedly gave an opinion, blocked people/called them sysmeds for trying to explain how DID worked, all while repeately saying “i’m a singlet so i’m not an authority.”. (why the fuck were you giving your opinions and asserting them, then??????)

this is an ask about how isappho added me to their blocklist for antisemitism (which, unlike certain other blocklists, contained zero sources):

oh, sorry for sounding. inconsistent, but i did remember something and i wanted to mention it to you i think i may have blocked you on one of my sideblogs (but then tumblr, in all its weirdness and non functionality didn't apply that to all my blogs) for pluralantagonism which would make sense and probably cause a glitch this was a while ago, in like (checks) october of 2020, but at the time, you identified as a singlet, and you got pretty intensely into syscourse you said some things that are very inaccurate about the disorder of DID (which i have) you said people could have DID without trauma, which is not true, and then when multiple anons tried to correct you, you called them 'sysmeds' which. is not correct. having DID is not just about having alters, in fact i would say it is not even the "main" part of it. saying DID comes from trauma is not an anti endo statement it is literally medical fact that has been tested and verified multiple times over the course of decades

DID is a mental disorder, and it is also not the same as having a system. you can have a system without trauma, but you cannot have DID and you pretty much talked over systems while repeatedly saying you were a singlet i think i might have blocked you for that, for the record

don’t send them hate or anything for the record, of course. just be wary when people make blocklists that don’t source anything. whenever i’ve written warning posts or whatever, i try to include screenshots, reblogs, web archives, etc... this kind of behavior, that isappho is showing, is conflating DID with plurality. it’s the same thing anti endos do, it’s unhelpful, it’s ableist and it’s just not fucking accurate.

*edit* i didn’t realize this at first, but isappho is apparently 15 years old. i’m not happy about essentially making a callout for someone so young, but i am going to keep this post up for a couple of reasons:

plenty of well-meaning pro-endo system allies say similar things to this, that disorders like DID/OSDD don’t require very basic parts of the disorder, when in reality they’re conflating having these disorders with being a system

isappho has a fairly large tumblr following as far as i am aware and my name is essentially being slandered, and i want what actually happened to be out there so people can see it

again, absolutely do not be mean or weird over this. don’t send them hate, don’t be an ass. i’m just pointing out an example of serious ableism in the lgbtq+ community.

*second edit* these are the posts that came directly after isappho added me to their blocklist and i ended up making this post:

so, not only is someone (who makes no mention of having DID themself, for the record) calling me a sysmed for trying to explain how DID forms, but they literally refuse to even look at this post i’ve made and are twisting my words to frame me mentioning that they used to label as a singlet as some kind of erasure.

i’d also like to mention that i am outright triggered by someone so aggressively calling me a sysmed because of the literal trauma that system gatekeepers have given me. isappho does not care about this and blocked me when i messaged them on another account to beg them to stop.

isappho is an ableist.

i’m assuming this is aimed at me? i didn’t fucking call you a singlet, again, me acknowledging that you said these things while referring to yourself as a singlet and identifying as such is not me erasing your current plurality, but again

this user is essentially sticking their fingers in their ears and refusing to listen to any discussion about this, and honestly, because of their age, it’s just not even worth it to try anymore imo. just block, spread the info and move on. maybe they’ll get over it as time goes on.
