Both These two movies @wonderwomanfilm and @blackpanther meant so much for women, and black folks, because, Yes, they were comic book heroes, but, They were more than just comic book movies, they were proof that #representationmatters. Everyone on this planet wants to see imagery, films, entertainment, and entities that they can relate to. Whether it be via race, ethnicity, gender, sex, religion, background or, things they aspire to be. And wuite frankly, there is nothing wrong with desiring to see things you are. In the past, Hollywood, and the media have presented images of both women, and minorities, specifically black people, as less than heroic. The images of women have been submissive, or subordinates to powerful men. And, the imagery of black people has been, the help, thugs, or comical, side kicks. So, as I said, seeing Queens and Kings in powerful positions, and being heroic LEAD super Heroes, is definitely a Positive Experience for anyone that is a woman, or a black person. I absolutely loved both films, for obvious and various reasons. NOW, The true irony is, (Batman voice) DIANAaaaa aka Wonder Woman is an Amazonian woman. So even She is a representation of, more than just women, but powerful, minority women.
