Week 34 Story Telling: Color without Color I have been working on a project that will allow me to display some of my photos in a creative way. So this is a photos of part of the process.
Week 49 - Portrait: Dancing Took my daughter out in the backyard to shoot her doing some twirling. Decided to play with a long exposure with flash. I should have tried dragging the shutter but they sky was getting less and less interesting fast. I like how this shot turned out.
Week 44 - Landscape: A Tree Oh, good an easy one I thought, a week later and gallons of fuel burned I finally got a shot. Still not what I was looking for and I feel like I had to work on it to much but it's an OK image. All the trees I wanted to shoot had either already lost their leaves or hadn't turned yet. This is different a little bit for me in its style but it looks good.
Week 38 - Landscape: Get Low I knew when my family had to make a last minute trip to Kansas that I would be able to find my get low photo while there. The land is known for being flat though where we were at it was actually quite hilly. Still in the river valley we were at the roads were long and straight. I like the low angle view of the road disappearing off into the sunset.
Week 36 - Artistic: Food Oh, I had great plans for this week. Make something awesome, set up a shoot with lighting and backdrops and take some great photos. Then the week got here and time disappeared. So, today at my church's outdoor anniversary service we were grilling up 300 wings. I took one look at the grill and thought, there it is that's my food photo.
Week 33 - Artistic: Collaboration My Grandpa passed away earlier this year and he had quite an interesting life. He once owned a canoe building company and later in life took up painting. So I thought I would take one of his paintings and place it with a canoe, unfortunately not one he build, and compose this photo.
Week 31 - Portrait: Street Candid Oh, not the dreaded Street Photography Challenge. Not my strong suit. Took the family to a local vineyard to hear a friends jazz band perform. Took my camera because this vineyard is very photogenic. There were a lot of people there as the weather was unusually cool and the air dry. Took several shots of people around where we were sitting. This shot seemed to capture the even pretty well. Black and White just helped to make the image more interesting.
Week 30 - Artistic: Patterns What is this? I was sitting in church after service had ended and was trying to think of a subject or location to complete this challenge. Then I looked up and there it was, an idea. A little color correction, detail extraction, and this is the final image. Clue to what this is, is in the hashtags.
