This was in my head since I came out of the cinema the other day. It sets in an AU, of course.
Ethan Hunt was just looking for the bathroom. He remembered Benji saying the first door to the right, but the room he had just walked in was rather a guest room. Wasn’t it to the left then? However, before he could have stepped out of the room, he heard a voice. A familiar one.
“Benji, do you really want to keep me here…” all night, she wanted to say but couldn’t finish the sentence because she realized who entered the room.
The two agents were facing each other, both speechless, both finding it hard to breathe. The last time Ethan saw her, she was dead, lying on a dark and narrow street of Venice, but now Ilsa Faust was standing right in front of him, alive and well. Was he dreaming? Or did someone kill him on his way to the bathroom and now he was dead as well?
“Hello, Ethan,” Ilsa said softly.
Ethan didn’t care if they were alive or dead, it only mattered that she was with him again, now in his arms, leaning her head on his shoulder. He never thought this would happen again.
He couldn’t tell for how long they were standing there like this: perhaps for hours or for a couple of minutes only when thoughts began crawling back into his mind. He forced himself to pull away a little so he could face her.
“Did I just die?” he asked, almost whispering. He had faced death several times, but he had never thought it would happen this smoothly. Just enter the first room to the right and that’s it.
A smile touched Ilsa’s lips and she lifted a hand to feel his pulse.
“Your heart is beating,” she confirmed. “And so is mine.”
Ethan checked his own pulse and feeling his heartbeat now he was getting confused.
“The last time I saw you, you were dead,” he said.
“The Venetian doctors knew what they were doing,” she told him, “and it took a while to recover.”
“Are you sure this is not a dream?” he asked, still unable to believe that she was real and not just a product of his imagination.
Ilsa smiled again and lifted a hand to touch his face, when they heard Benji Dunn’s voice from outside.
“Left! I said the first door to the left! Now you ruined the surprise!”
Do not fucking talk to me about this. Do not look at or speak to me. I can’t move my muscles right now.

Function Order: Se-Fi-Te-Ni Ilsa makes quite an impression when she first breaks Ethan out of his torture chamber, killing a man with her thighs, and then tells him she will stay behind and come up with a cover story. She is willing to put her life at risk, to stay and act as a double-agent within one corrupt system, while giving information to the CIA. She has successfully infiltrated the…

Rebecca Ferguson in Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018)
A thing I liked about Grace
(beside being played by hayley atwell)
is that she didnt feel like s replacement ilsa cause she was a different type of character. Ilsa never wanted to be part of the team, while Grace, like parker, always on the run, so she freaks out at first but later jumps on the chance.
She isnt too keen on the IMF but she believes in Ethan
Ilsa had her own demons to conquer.
In that way she reminds me of Sophie. And it would have been cool to see her eventually lead her own team
I’m all into the Mission Impossible movies right now (still on a high from Fallout!) but I noticed there’s like no MI fandom on tumblr...
I’m reeeally struggling to find any Mission Impossible focused blogs.
