Bismi Allah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem!
I love being a South African Muslim.
I wear my prayer garments that I purchased from a merchant born in Syria that immigrated here and was given his barakah in the form of a shop in Fordsburg. I sit on my prayer mat that was imported from Saudi Arabia by an Indian uncle who's forefathers were once brought here as slaves. I drink my rooibos chai latte from the local startup where the barista learnt her love for the tea from her khosa mother.

Did you talk to Allah about it, or are you trying to manage alone?
Faith is being so afraid, but taking the step anyway because you know Allah won't let you fall.
The media being Against the blessed Islamic Teachings + Values
The media tells us "live freely"— Muhammad ﷺ told us "the world is a prison for the believer" (Sahih Muslim 2956)
The media tells us "be unacceptable, loud & proud"— Muhammad ﷺ told us, "Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you should adopt humility... so that no one may wrong another and no one may be disdainful and haughty towards another" (Sahih Muslim 2865)
The media tells us, "Treat others the way they deserve" —Muhammad ﷺ told us, "accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and not to do wrong if they do evil" (Tirmidhi 2007)
Thus , do not let these seemingly relatable words on a post of the media feed your nafs the illusion that you are anything more than a piece of clay, amongst clays! Subhaan'allah, our deen is one that teaches us how to truly live the best of lives, in 'ibaadah, character, daily life, and everything else.
