for their design i didn’t have many problems with the original other than that it was kind of messy. there’s the weird skirt/undershirt, the hands go literally nowhere—there’s no pockets or anything on what looks like a sweater—and the shoes look just as messy which is expected with ai art. i wanted to go for a more androgynous comfy look and i also thought it would be funny if they had the MSCHF boots because they oddly fit
i changed their backstory to be normal compared to everybody else, imo though i like isoda they kind of feel like a nothing burger character, and the thing about getting institutionalized twice, once for jumping off a building, felt very random and crtccnnc added nothing. so i scaled it back
for their story role, i changed them from a survivor to the chapter 2 victim. like i said i do like their character but i dont feel like they contributed enough to the story to be a survivor—like they literally hide in their room for the beginning of the first chapter before being forced to pair up with hirose. so i decided to lean into that a bit, where the same thing happens and isoda isolates in their room. when they're forced out because of the partner motive, they eventually befriend hirose, maekawa, and ninomiya, but nothing more than that. the same isolation kind of goes on in chapter 2, with isoda only coming out of their room to practice with ninomiya, until they're eventually targeted by the bleeding because of this. their original plan to electrocute isoda fails, and isoda ends up getting caught in matthias' trap and dies. i decided to make them a chapter 2 victim as opposed to a chapter 1 victim even if i feel like they dont contribute much because imo a chapter 1 victim is extremely important to setting up the story, and akiba already does it well (to go even further imagine how different danganronpa would be if hifumi killed hagakure instead of leon killing sayaka)
anyway i don't have anything else so heres the backstory:
Mion Isoda was an only child, and had a simple, uneventful life. It was clear they had a talent for singing, and when they were 13 they began uploading covers of popular vocaloid songs onto Youtube. The videos gained virality when viewers discovered how young the singer was. The fame leaked into their personal life as well, and they gained popularity at school along with the title of "Youngest Utaite" among netizens. Around the same time, they began experimenting with their gender expression, wearing more gender neutral clothing and coming out as genderfluid, their identity embraced by their parents and peers. Mion continued to pursue singing, learning to play the guitar and uploading more covers online. They eventually began writing their own songs. They were good, but Mion wanted to do more, and eventually, the song "Perfect Me" was uploaded to the internet when they were 18 and garnered millions of views, becoming a hit. Mion began doing live shows at venues, then moving on to bigger spaces like outdoor stages where large crowds came to watch them sing. Mion currently has their own apartment and several managers to handle things such as collaborations and appearances.
