we* as a society** should take advantage of arranged marriage plots more
#* me#** as part of the as.oiaf rpc#ISODSJFOSJ#i don't even mean just our muses getting married although I'm always down for that#our muses /not/ getting married even though they're in love#(which opens up to the potential subplots of dueling for someone's hand or illicit affairs 🫡)#the whole dynamic with other people#parents or guardians who are arranging said marriage#or who are opposed to it. or who a character is going to for help#(to escape. to know how to deal with it and what to expect idk)#siblings with who the character can talk about it openly#siblings who are outraged on their sibling's behalf#having to deal not only with a new husband but a new household#and a family who may or may not like you#idk I just think arranged marriage plots are neat#even in canon there are some fun examples#laena betrothed for 10 years bc her betrothed sucks and her dad won't give her to him but can't find a way to break the betrothal#myrcella being sent somewhere with an entirely different culture yet adapting quick and thriving (and she loves the martells sm actually)#so!!! yeah. that#i just think it can be fun
