It's National Lighthouse Day ~ and this designation began 25 years ago today! Cove Point, October 1934. Left to right are assistant keeper Herman Metivier and keeper Horace Groom. Clearly visible on the right is the skeletal steel tower erected after Cove Point became a vessel reporting station in 1899. The tower was only recently dismantled. Photographed by Edward C. Wallis.
