pretty sure i've already made this hc before but thinking about how eddie doesn't like drinking black coffee but years spent with myra had him listening to her go on and on about how bad sugar is and how bad creamer is and how if eddie drinks his coffee with cream and sugar it will only have negative effects on his health so eddie switches to black coffee and he hates it but he still drinks it because it's "better for him"

and then years later after derry and everything and eddie is dating richie now one morning richie is making them coffee and he asks how eddie wants his coffee, and eddie says just black, and richie is confused because "when we were kids you had such a sweet tooth. i would have thought that you'd hate just black coffee" and eddie has a moment of. yeah i do fucking hate black coffee actually. but for the past 20 years he'd never even been given the option for anything else so why bother. except now richie is getting out the bowl of sugar and the bottle of creamer and for the first time in years eddie is drinking his coffee as sweet as he's always wanted it and even though it's just coffee it's a sort of freedom that makes eddie feel like he can breathe again

Just in case y’all were wondering, Eddie does, in fact, let Richie’s Netflix special play through the night while Richie is on tour. And yes, he does know almost every word of the damn special. But under no circumstances will he ever tell Richie about that.

Eddie Kaspbrak is a horrible cook. He always overcooks foods like chicken because he's terrified of getting salmonella. He can't properly season things "to taste" because he doesn't know how much salt means "to taste". He hates recipes that don't tell him exactly what to do, and that means he hates most recipes.

However, he's a great baker, because baking is always precise.

Everything has an exact measurement and time and temperature that it needs to be at for it to be perfect. There's no question of how much or how little, it's all there. It's chemistry, a science.

People are always shocked trying his baking because it's so good, but the paella he brought to the office last week was horrible.
