Quick hypothetical, “Mr Bouchard”, nothing to worry about.
But hypothetically, if an employee of your institute became an avatar of another fear, possibly something a little… twisted, distorted even, could they, hypothetically, continue to be employed?
Hello, definitely-not-touched-by-The-Spiral Anon,
Thank you for reaching out with this concern. The simple answer is: Yes, with stipulations.
If you were to, hypothetically, be marked by 'It Lies', then keeping your job would be entirely reliant on the strength of its hold. If you yourself became The Distortion, then no, you would not be able to remain employed at the Magnus Institute. Though, I would hope to part ways with you on good terms.
Now, if you were to become a minor avatar of The Spiral, I don't see an issue with allowing you to remain here with us. That is, unless your job is in managing artifacts or giving visitors instructions and information, you also would not be eligible for the role of my personal assistant, or the Archivist.
If your job happens to be in tech, research, or even HR (truthfully, our human resources department only exists because I found the irony of it humorous,) then you are welcome to stay right where you are! Encouraged, even. After all, we love diversity here at The Magnus Institute.
Head of The Magnus Institute, London.
