Hiii guyss..... um.... some news! Ibis Paint X/my laptop is screwing up again (has been for a few days) so art might be lower quality and less frequent for a while. I don't know how long it will take to get this problem fixed but hopefully it will be soon :] Okay bye love you
What do you think Esther would have done if one of her children was born a siphoner?
Perhaps controversial, but I actually don’t think Esther—prior to her initial death and her time on the Other Side—is particularly preoccupied with what is “natural” when it comes to magic.
I base that on a few things: 1.) her willingness to use Dahlia’s magic (at a great cost) to “fix” her fertility problem, 2.) her willingness to go against the natural order to create vampires (even without knowing what would eventually happen, homegirl clearly did not care what creating immortal beings might do to the balance), and 3.) how things played out with Tatia and the hybrid curse.
Because of that, I don’t think she’d actually hate the child for being a siphon—any more than she hated any of her children. Which is to say: Esther strikes me as a horrifically neglectful and thoughtless mother more than one that was actively abusive and/or homicidal while human. Certainly, she would not love them enough to save them from Mikael (she did not even love herself enough to do something about him), but I don't think she’d try to drown them in a river either.
As a sidenote: I don’t believe for a second that siphons have always been universally hated across all time periods and cultures. There is no way that “Nature” and “Balance” are universally codified concepts across all witch communities. I don’t buy it.
Got a thousand problems but a view of the autumn trees on a mountain and some head would fix most of them
the adhd do be adhd’ing
Hhhhhoh my god I'm gonna have to foot the bill for an exotic vet
I’m torn between using one of my ocs as a skelesona or not… because I really like her design but also I wanna potentially write a story for her. I just. Dunno.
(it’s kinda hard since so much stuff has already been done in the utdr community haha)
you can always just do both! i do both sometimes
eventually you might even learn to separate those two instances into their own things with different design quirks
I do think Ed will listen to and understand Stede’s reasons for disappearing on him once he’s willing to listen.
I also think Stede’s gonna get a couple shallow stabbings trying to get Ed to listen.
But I also think Ed’s gonna take a couple punches or stabs himself for leaving the crew behind.
It’s gonna be messy and bloody, and they’ll probably be shouting at each other, but in the end, they’ll figure it out.
Stede will get to explain about Badminton the Bald and how he’s truly free to be with Ed with his death faked. Ed will be allowed to be angry at Stede for leaving him like he did but be willing to accept that he was in shock from everything that happened with BwB.
And then Lucius will come out of the secret passage with a scream because he has been trying to sneak to the deck for AN HOUR, and THESE TWO WON’T SHUT UP
