Daylight Rings & The Trinity

I am and likely always will be mad that Luciens doesn't match. I have my own little headcanon that Lucien has a matching ring that he keeps hidden in his box of things with his sketches/paintings of Aurora.

But Aurora and Tristan having a matching pair is so fitting, and messy situation, especially since Tristan wears it on his wedding finger. While, this wasn't the meaning in the era he started wearing one. Since Men only really started wearing wedding rings in the last century. But it absolutely makes a point of his connection to his sister. (and I am and will forever headcanon the original rings they had being from Klaus/Elijah so... added drama).

Apparently, middle fingers are a show of personality and power, it being "These fingers are associated with our purpose in life and our identity" also like stability and such. And it seems to be the most common place for vampires to wear daylight rings. (Elijah, Stefan, Kol, Rebekah).

Lucien getting a larger stones ring honestly is fitting, its more eye catching and more obvious compared to the sleek, expensive but simple rings the de Martels have. He also, unlike Tristan and Aurora, wears it on his dominant hand so he shows it off more. Fits better to his habit of being flashy and showing off.

#I actually don't mind it being different #mainly because I think elijah and klaus were both reeling from finding out that klaus was not mikael's son #and the curse related drama (tm) so lucien getting a daylight ring that others him from the de martels makes sense to me #both from lucien's pov but also lucien pretending to be klaus's pov #aurora de martel #tristan de martel #lucien castle #I have some general thoughts on the middle finger wearing but I have to fact check something first #remind me later to talk about it if I was correct in my memories of the symbolism
