I KNEW THEY WOULDN'T LET ME DOWN
Maria Shipp: "The way you disarmed my Glock was very...distinctive."
O.o Um...is Eliot going to discover some kind of shared past with this person, or are they just kindred spirits? Look at that "Ooo, I haven't flirted with a fellow punchy person in ages! And she recognizes distinctive things" look! Flirty fun for Eliot!
Is he gonna have to lure a U.S. Marshal into a life of crime so he can bring her home with him? Or could this be the next Bonnano?
Hardison: "I'm getting some weird feedback, it's like, like a whumpa whumpa."
Eliot: "Wait! What do you mean, what kinda whumpa whumpa?"
Hardison: "I mean how many kinds are there?"
Eliot: "There's seven of 'em! Is it a whumpa-pop whumpa-pop?"
Hardison: "Are you being serious right now?"
Eliot: "Hardison!"
Hardison: "It's like a... a whumpa-tink, whumpa-tink."
Eliot: "Alright Nate, you need to get outta there."
[helicopter lands and CIA get out]
Sophie: "That's him, that's our coder. Made sure the algorithm didn't spot him."
Breanna: "Well, he wasn't counting on Eliot's situational awareness." [Eliot raises his eyebrows] "So, here are some driver's license photos from all the homeowners in the development?" [awkward bared-teeth grin/ducked head at Eliot]
Eliot: "Well, to be fair, I only saw this guy for like, two seconds, so I might not be-" [cuts himself off as soon as he actually looks at the screen] "-it's the third from the left, second row down."
.
I love this. Not only for the way he literally takes no time once he actually looks at the pictures, but also because Breanna knew this was something that could work!
Among Hardison's many stories about his partners/team, he has absolutely told Breanna about Eliot's "it's a very distinctive" line and how he has incredible situational awareness at all times. I bet he bragged about that time in the truck when Eliot figured out how to get back to civilization based on the turns they'd taken/how fast they were driving, and translated all that in his head to the compass directions to go through a forest and how long it would take them, all while he was being held captive by some crazy - Breanna are you listening this is very important information -
child!Breanna: yeah you wanna kiss him I get it, I get it
Eliot: "Guys, we got another problem. These guys are Russian mob."
Harry: "Russians? How do you know they're Russian?"
Eliot: "Because it's a very distinctive - Hang on." [knocks out groaning Russian thug]
hooooooooly shit
what’s this now
Eliot running into the room: "Hardison, I said sea salt, this is iodized sallllll whooo got the military satellite intercept? You're not sup-" [Sophie gives him a Look] "...it's a very distinctive static."
Eliot: "What do they got on the gunman?"
Hardison: "They're running his prints. It's gonna take hours to narrow down."
Eliot: "Look up the Navy Seal database, enlisted from '90 to '95." [Hardison turns to look at him] "It's his watch. Steel-brushed chronometers were standard SEAL issue until they switched to the carbon black divers' watch in '95. It's a very distinctive watch, pull it up."
Eliot truly is hypervigilant and has incredible recall. This was an amazing tiny detail from a pretty quick fight - and it's such a small piece of information about a group he was never a part of, from a while ago.
Also, that he's so calm and focused the entire time he says this. The usual semi-angry way he spits out that something is distinctive is totally gone, he's just very intent and thoughtful, fitting to the severity of the situation.
