a couple people keep saying it’s because the sketch of the bridge was bad but that is also just not the case.
I need y’all to realise that this looks absolutely insane for a sketch he did in a couple minutes. the shape of the bridge and woman may look crude, sure but the fire? the way it’s perfectly blended?? it makes larry look some kind of artistic savant because to do all that in minutes is almost impossible
Mulan AU where she does get caught by the other fresh recruits while she's bathing but Mushu helps her spin it like the lake is cursed by an evil lizard demon and will turn men into women if they stay in it for too long.
From there it's not actually difficult to get the other soldiers onboard with covering up the fact that poor Ping took one for the team and got afflicted by the vagina curse, especially since it would have been all of them if they hadn't gotten the warning ahead of time. So they agree to help him cover it up, because obviously the army's not going to understand.
Shang is... tentatively glad that the men are bonding and getting along, even if they continue to be deeply weird about it.

Thinking about it, in a Mia Fey: Ace Attorney game, I think there would be a really interesting limitation with the themes because of what (mostly who) we have established that Phoenix does not know by the start of AA1:
Who the Feys are (including spirit channeling but also the magatama Mia wears/presumably uses)
Much at all about Maya
Who Gumshoe is
Anything about Diego Armando, or specifics about Mia's first trial
Anything about Redd White
Who Lana Skye is
He also has not met Edgeworth since they were 9
I do think a Mia Fey game should involve Phoenix. He should show up as her assistant for at least a case or two. But perhaps he cannot accompany her all the time (school/studying to become a lawyer make good excuses to get him out of the way), and so he misses out on certain things. It would be a cool mechanic if you cannot perform certain actions (like using the magatama) when he is around, to show Mia is hiding this from him. Or one case involves investigating in a hospital, and Mia won't go into a certain area until Phoenix is gone. Then it turns out that is where Diego is in his coma, and she can go talk to a nurse she knows from visiting there, or something. Maya should absolutely come in as well, and maybe she and Phoenix can alternate in filling the assistant role depending on the case (though I know Mia left evidence with Maya, I'm not sure how much she really brought her in directly... but there's no way she should be left out).
In general I feel like a theme of concealment should be a big one for her, given how private and segregated she is keeping her life. Also something related to families, coercion, duty vs. desire. It's tricky because we can't have a cathartic wrap up with things being revealed or brought out into the open — because we know she and Lana didn't reconcile. Diego never woke up. She didn't introduce Phoenix to Maya. She didn't catch Redd White. None of that gets to fully happen before her death, so a final resolution dealing with these themes would be more difficult to make really impactful. Dramatic irony can definitely play in but you wouldn't want the entire game to hinge on something where the finale is just hinting towards her future death. But at the same time, ignoring the Redd White investigations completely would be a disservice, since they are a big part of her motivation and what she has been working on behind the scenes.
I think there could be elements of Mia taking cases that bring her closer to sources on White. We also probably want to see her growing in confidence and skill throughout the game. Filling in the gaps between her first trials and how respected she was by AA1.
We certainly don't want to leave out Lana, Phoenix, or Maya but they can't meet. Can't ignore Diego completely but he's in a coma the whole time so making something about him relevant enough to include more than easter eggs of Mia grieving is more of a challenge. Gotta show her successes and cleverness but knowing it can't reach any of her ultimate goals. It would be such a challenge to really hit everything right but I think it could be done, and in a way really poignant as well as satisfying. Maybe the theme of separate identities is resolved with private resolution which leads towards her (intended) reveal of the truth after defeating Redd White. Something in the final case that foreshadows her willingness to (as a ghost, when the situation is dire) threaten/blackmail Redd White with the list of names? After her trial with Phoenix she regained her determination but it's still a long hard road.
It's just so much fun to think about how it could be done. I wish it existed so bad.
Idk if this will ever happen but I need AA7 to be a Mia Fey game so bad. The Redd White trial clearly was meant to be much more complicated and intense, and we could come back to that. We can see what Mia and Maya's dynamic was like, when she was alive. I want to see them fight and reconcile, I want to see Mia wrestling with the fact that her dedication to her work is driving people away from her (parallels to Lana Skye perhaps). I want to see her try (and fail) to move on from Diego. I want to see her at some huge conspiracy corkboard at 2 AM.
I am glad the games expanded on Mia and did not just leave her as the dead exposition tutorial character, but it would be even better if she had her own game.
I’ve been meaning to redraw the cover of Making Money for a hot minute- but animating it was a last minute decision and I was kind of a freak for that. Regardless this is my new favorite thing and I will be staring at it for years

bumped into my neighbor who told me about how when she was mowing she found a praying mantis and while pointing it out to a another neighbor ran into a group of 4 men and also asked if they wanted to see and they enthusiastically agree
so, she takes them to see it and notices that these men are almost giddy over this bug so she starts asking questions and turns out they are from various African countries, are scientists travelling on some sort of research grant, and one of them in particular is specialist in insects and they were all just on their way to their Air B&B
like. Imagine you arrive in this foreign country to study its local bugs, you get off the plane and start walking to where you are staying, and some old lady stops you and is all "hey! Come look at our local bug!"

If nothing could detain Marius from going to the Luxembourg Gardens at "the appointed hour", and Courfeyrac knows this, I am choosing to believe that they have literally been hanging out and Marius has just abruptly left for that reason.
Yet, acting on both the instinctive timidity and the instinctive caution of a lover, he did not walk past it any more. He thought it advisable not to attract ‘her father’s attention’. With a downright Machiavellianism he contrived to stand behind trees and behind the pedestals of statues so as to be seen as much as possible by the girl and as little as possible by the old gentleman.

Sometimes he would remain motionless for whole half-hours at a stretch . . . seeking out the beautiful girl, and she for her part with a vague smile turned her lovely profile towards him. With her lips she responded to one, and with her eyes to the other.
Pressing every button to doubt. He's delusional. If she even is looking at him it's probably because she's trying to figure out what the heck this weirdo is doing
It is more than likely, however, that Monsieur Leblanc finally noticed something, for often when Marius arrived he stood up and began to walk about. He abandoned the place where they usually sat and adopted the bench next to the Gladiator at the other end of the path, as if to see whether Marius would follow them there. Marius did not realize, and made that mistake. The ‘father’ started to become unpredictable and no longer brought ‘his daughter’ every day. Sometimes he came alone. Then Marius did not stay. Another mistake.

One evening at dusk he found a handkerchief on the bench that ‘Monsieur Leblanc and his daughter’ had just left. . . . He seized on it with rapture. This handkerchief was marked with the letters UF. Marius knew nothing about this beautiful girl – her family, her name, where she lived.
Probably for the best, or else he'd probably start pacing outside her house 😒
These two letters were the first thing about her that he had managed to come by, adorable initials on which he immediately began to build his conjectures. U was evidently her first name. ‘Ursule!’ he thought. ‘What a delightful name!’
There's the "U". A 19th century French history knower has got to tell me if that was a common or appealing name at that time or if he's just being ridiculous again (I say "again" as though he's actually stopped it at any moment. "Still being ridiculous" would be a better way to word it.)
He kissed the handkerchief, breathed in its scent, placed it during the day on his heart, on his flesh, and at night fell asleep with it at his lips.
‘I can smell her entire being in it!’ he exclaimed.
This handkerchief belonged to the old gentleman, who had simply dropped it from his pocket.

In the days that followed this lucky find, Marius never appeared in the Luxembourg Gardens without the handkerchief, kissing it and pressing it to his heart. The lovely child was completely baffled, and conveyed this to him by the discreetest of signs.
‘What modesty!’ said Marius.
