this has been on my mind for days now but i need an expert’s opinion... would it be rude to feed skeletons bone broth? cause itll be made of animal bones but i cant decide if eating bones would be some sort of taboo regardless?
I don’t think it would matter much to them!
They’re bones, sure, but they’re monsters, which means they’re magic bones-- even their marrow isn’t the bloody, meaty kind human and animal bones have, it’s just a raw coagulation of magic and dust-- so there’s some similarities, but in the end, it’s just not the same thing.
I can’t imagine there’d be any taboos in skeleton culture about eating bones, either. (Even if there were more than two skeletons in each universe for there to be a culture, and who definitely didn’t get too much out of their parent when he was still around...)
Once a monster’s gone, no part of their body sticks around, it just becomes dust, so living Underground especially, it’s not like the concept of eating bones would’ve picked up any disturbing or morbid connotations. At the very least, no connotations worse than the odd dog monster asking for a bone bullet here and there to chew on or play with, which was a mild inconvenience at worst and nothing at all like the very very rude dog monsters who did not ask and simply stole some very cool attacks without permission!!!
Anyway, final answer, at least in my opinion-- not a big deal, I don’t think any of them would be disturbed or uncomfortable with it. Wouldn’t hurt to ask anyway, but letting someone know what you’re feeding them is just generally good manners!
