My YouTube playlist with fan videos for Farscape. This is the oldest playlist of mine. I've started it before Google bought YouTube. So many videos disappeared in the meanwhile :(. Fortunately, it still grows. Sometimes with new videos, sometimes with some old gems I just haven't discovered before. The vast majority are general Farscape and John/Aeryn, but I think every character and relationship is somehow there. It's just hard to track specific themes with older videos.

I'm going to repeat myself, over and over. But I think, the following, applies to all fandoms.

In my opinion, playlists are currently one of the best ways to find fan videos on YouTube. Especially for less popular or older fandoms or smaller creators. If you have one created for Farscape, I encourage you to reblog or comment under this post with the link. Let's spread the love for vids and vidders and help each other find hidden gems.

Also, please, if you like any of the videos, don't get discouraged by the fact that they're old. Like, save and make comments. I have yet to find a creator who isn't happy when people interact with their older creations. It can make someone's day. Who knows, maybe it will motivate them to dust off their skills and love for the fandom, if they have time.

So question: do we think Tommy knows Buck has never been with a man before at this point? My take is no because like Tommy, Buck very much worked from the straight-looking-and-acting queer dude's playbook, even if he wasn't aware of it: the gender-neutral terms when talking about exes, the cautious flirtation that would fly over a straight guy's head (my fees are competitive), the use of queer-coded language (keeping my options fluid, who tf says that). And then in the loft, Buck is the one to close that final gap between them that takes it from two mean standing a conversational distance apart to 'holy shit where is this going' territory, and Buck is the one who admits he's been trying to get Tommy's attention in the most thirsty, broken tone that would make the straightest frat bro want to climb him like a redwood. You could argue Tommy checking in with Buck after the kiss was a clue he knows Buck is inexperienced, but that could just stem from his understanding that there's a bit of an age gap/power imbalance between them. I'm curious to see in the next ep what Tommy's reaction to Buck's cringey "it's my first date with a dude" is. In short, this whole arc is going to be DELICIOUS in the best way.

I'm not yet over all the enthusiasm from Pyrkon, so here's a few more pics. I met Dandelion. I also met an original witcher character and a leshy. Gosh, the quality of their cosplays was mind blowing. I felt like a kid in that field next to them, but I think I fitted more or less.

the little stumbles kid!aloy does when she’s running down a slope trying to follow rost

aloy’s hair flowing in the wind

echo carrying over in canyons and mountains when aloy speaks or calls her mount

discovering new machines and taking time to scan them and quietly wondering how in the heck you’re gonna beat that (hello, thunderjaws)

NPCs commenting on aloy’s outfits depending on what she’s wearing (”under those Carja clothes, she’s still a savage” or “your Carja outfit is very... distinct. (awkward pause) all-Mother help me forget this sight”)

the journey from the nora lands into the carja desert with machines way tougher to kill than anything you’ve been fighting up till then, all the way to the haven that is meridian and its luscious landscape and impressive architecture 

machines hobbling or showing where they’re hurt after they’ve been damaged, like sawtooths holding up their paw (babies!!) 

components disappearing one by one when aloy is harvesting a machine

pretty much every time she comments during gameplay, it makes it so much more immersive tbh, and shows how cute she is 

the way tall grass bends and ripples with the wind

going back to aloy’s childhood house to talk to rost’s grave 

seeing and overriding a tallneck for the first time

the weather impacting visibility and making it waaay harder to spot machines or fight them because of the rain / sandstorm / snow

learning alongside aloy about what happened to the world of the old ones, and wondering how elisabet sobeck managed to save the earth when everything seemed so bleak and desperate

listening to elisabet explain what Project Zero Dawn really was, and getting chills when the music rises when she gets to GAIA and the sub-functions

finding the carcasses of ancient deathbringers buried in the ground or overgrown with trees and plants all over the map

machines destroying cacti and trees during a fight 

how each cauldron is different and makes you adapt to whatever enemies / topography awaits you, making it a great side quest instead of a repetitive one

battle music changing depending on which machine aloy is fighting (the one playing during corruptor fights being absolutely terrifying lmao)

the cauldron symbols visible on machines revealing where they were made 

aloy saying “don’t look down” while climbing and answering with an exasperated “damn it” if you do look down with the camera (devs are cheeky little creatures lmao)
