Random advice or an opinion:

Tracing isn't cheating... For people who are new, they could trace the pictures to learn... Yea , don't trace the exact whole painting and then claim it as yours... AI is bad if you don't make good use of it... Screenshot the ai reference and then posting it as your own painting is wrong... You can use ai for choosing a pose for your reference, you can choose your style, you can choose different eye shapes, face structures , if you can't find it originally( though i don't support Ai, but it could help you , if you make a good use of it ) ...that's the whole point, don't claim an Ai reference yours... Use it, trace the reference and then add your features into it, then you can call it yours... You are drawing someone else's ocs? I am recently in this group where I saw something like this, idk but I felt like it was Ai, so don't do that... You have an oc's whole reference, use it for learning, select a pose, select how you want your face structure and everything ( say, type your prompt in Ai for a specific pose you are thinking of or ask it for a random reference but don't copy it ) and then add the features existing!!! That's some good use of AI and tracing... And yeah, never be afraid of tracing , tracing makes you know what style you are kinda comfortable in, that's it!!

I have been tracing since 2 months , asking for references and all, and I can say i have improved a lot, the fear of being unable to do the art requests is not anymore within me!! No one talks about this.... I am really enjoying creating ocs of artists and i am doing it in different styles to find mine, and i guess i kinda found it too, Ghibli style is something i have adored since long, I am thinking to pursue this style only, but how did i get to know that? It was due to tracing and learning...

Also an artistic advice: Join the community like this , trust me it will help you a lot, it's helping me a lot🥹🫶🏻
