It takes him awhile to get to know you and feel confident enough to make a move on you, because you are so introverted he has a hard time figuring out if the two of you would get along or not. Therefore he holds out for quite some time and watches you from afar before making a decision to approach you.

However when he finally does he gets attached to you fairly quickly and enjoys spending every minute with you. Because he gets attached quickly he becomes very protective of you very early on and it can seem somewhat uncalled for and smothering but this is only because he fears something bad could happen to you and wants nothing but you to be safe and happy.

In the beginning he would admire you from afar and it would take a rather long time for him to actually act on you as a love interest. He’s not really comfortable getting involved with someone romantically because he has so many enemies he worries about dragging you into something dangerous just by being with him, and the last thing he wants is to cause you trouble or to put you in any kind of danger.
