Item #47
Selkie Make - Tableware
Location: Circa 670 bS.W. Northern Seas, Unknown Island
Material: Bone with Mother of Pearl Inlay
Arcane Status: None
Description:
Likely part of a set of tableware given as part of a dowry. The make and design indicate it was only used for special occasions. Selkies are incredibly skilled crafters when in bipedal form, and many of their wares are found throughout the seas. Typically items made from scavenged bones are mixed with shipwreck finds, to create unique pieces enjoyed by all.
Unique aspect is that there are only two tines, giving it the appearance of incomplete. However this is likely due to ancient mer-beliefs that odd numbers are unlucky, due to many different ocean races having strict mating rituals and family groups.
