Stepbrother!Rin Who still isn't used to living with a girl and having to call her sister. He hates how he's expected to look out for you and make sure you find some friends at school, how you take up the bathroom for hours and how annoyingly loud you whine whenever he wants to watch a football match and you your stupid trash TV. He never asked for a younger sibling, a fucking girl no less! As if his stupid brother wasn't enough to deal with already!
Stepbrother!Rin Who ignores you to the best of his abilities. He doesn't answer you in the hallways at school when you ask him what class he has next, walks past you in the cafeteria when you wave at him and rolls his eyes every time he comes downstairs for dinner and is greeted with your bright smile and shining eyes. He knows you're trying to be nice and play happy family, but he's not interested in it. He only cares about one thing and that's football.
Stepbrother!Rin Who has to carry you all the way home on his back after you sprained your ankle in PE. He's annoyed by your little sniffles right next to his ear and your tears staining his shirt as you cling to his shoulders with your face buried in the curve of his neck. Or at least he's annoyed until he sits you down on the large sofa in the living room area and wipes your tears away before bandaging up your foot carefully. You are kinda pretty...if you like the stupid bimbo type of girl that is—which he is completely immune to obviously.
Stepbrother!Rin Whose eyes flutter open in the middle of the night just to see you crawling into his bed. He wants to tell you off, but doesn't find it in himself when you start telling him about a very scary nightmare and how you can't fall asleep during the storm raging outside, how glad you are to have him here to protect you... He didn't ask or wanted to know, but now that you're here, he's pulling you closer by the waist and tells you to be quiet and go to sleep before he kicks you out.
Stepbrother!Rin Who tells himself he's just doing his job as an older brother to not get yelled at by his father when he scares off the guys approaching you with just one deadly stare or takes your hand into his to drag you after him so you don't get run over by a car on your way home because a stupid stray cat distracted you.
Stepbrother!Rin Who's stunned into silence, hands awkwardly hovering in the air near your hips, when you climb into his lap while he watches football and whine about switching channels for some stupid reality show you need to watch. What stuns him even more is the fact he puts it on for you without protest as his hands settle on your body and he pulls you into his chest. He even gets invested in the romantic drama displayed on TV, masking genuine curiosity behind petty questions and a click of his tongue.
Stepbrother!Rin Who first notices that something isn't right when he pops a huge boner after accidentally walking in on you changing. You had just taken a bath, standing in front of your closet and contemplating for the past 5 minutes if you should wear shorts or a skirt. The image of your luscious curves in barely any fabric is branded into the back of his mind when he takes care of his little problem in the bathroom—the cold shower wasn't nearly as satisfying as nutting it out later that evening.
Stepbrother!Rin Who does serious research in all things girls, boys and relationships in hopes to find any other explanation than physical attraction towards his stepsister as a reason for his desires to bend you over the kitchen counter, hike your skirt up and fuck that silly smile from your face. He can't bear it anymore, your pretty eyes and the echo of your stupid giggles has been replaying inside his head for days now.
Stepbrother!Rin Who questions if your clinginess and need of attention is stemming from the same filthy urges that he secretly craves. Would you sit in his lap if you didn't want to grind against his hard-on? Would you cuddle up to him every night if you didn't like the way his morning wood kept pressing between your ass cheeks? Why would you wear little to nothing around the house 24/7 if you didn't want him to stare at your perfect tits and make him imagine his teeth sinking into the perky mounts on each side?
Stepbrother!Rin Who has trouble looking into his father's eyes and only gives short, one word answers to direct questions during the rare occasion of family dinners, because he thinks his father will see right through him. His cold, distant behavior seems so perfectly normal to his father that he doesn't even notice a thing, but you do and he only stops brooding in self-pity when you hug him from behind and ask if he's okay.
Stepbrother!Rin Who's jerking it to the innocent pictures of you in his camera roll (like he does every night now). Tears burn in his eyes from the amount of shame he's feeling for being this disgusting, but the sheer desperation for you is growing stronger and stronger and his teeth clench down hard on the fabric of his pulled up shirt to stifle his pathetic noises.
Stepbrother!Rin Who didn't expect you to enter his room this early tonight as you caught him right in the act of cumming all over his stomach—panic sinks in immediately as he scrambles up and tries to explain himself.
Stepbrother!Rin Who goes completely silent when you lay down between his still spread legs, pushing his shirt out of the way and start to lick up the cum from his abdomen like it's cupcake frosting. It makes his cock spring into action again at the way you blink up and smile so cutely. He can't believe you're actually just as depraved and sick in the head as him and who is he to deny his little sister the one thing that they both have been craving from the start?!

Stepbrother!Sae Who knew that there would be new family members to greet when he comes home for a visit from Spain, but is still stunned into silence when he sees your mother and you coming to pick him up from the airport instead of having to take a taxi like always.
Stepbrother!Sae Who introduces himself with the bare minimum of politeness expected before strutting past you to the car like he owns the space. He stares at you in silence, deadpanned and straight faced while you ask about Spain, blabber about older brothers, family, even football and everything else that comes into your mind. You really are an airhead, aren't you?!
Stepbrother!Sae Who quickly gets used to your cheerful 'good morning' when he comes down the stairs. Maybe he underestimated the importance of a woman in this family with how you prepare his post work out meals exactly to his liking, clean up his room while he's out for a run and don't complain about him watching football all the time (beforehand he really feared for endless discussions with a girl like you in the house).
Stepbrother!Sae Who doesn't mind you tagging along to the field as long as you keep sitting on the sidelines and don't interrupt his concentration. He doesn't show it, would never admit it, but he actually starts to like the way you cheer him on and praise him for every little thing. It's like you're his own personal cheerleader—no clue about football or anything else in life, but all smiles and short skirts just for him.
Stepbrother!Sae Who scowls hard at every interaction you have with Rin. Like why are you even talking to that fucker when he's literally the superior brother in everything?!
Stepbrother!Sae Who never really cared for friendly locker room talk with his mates—too focused on the game itself. All they ever talk about is useless fun, girls and sex. Sae has better things to focus on. He never had a girlfriend or sex or even a kiss, but who cares...right?
Stepbrother!Sae Who sneaks into your room late at night on a regular basis by now. Sitting at the edge of your bed, one hand is gently threading through your hair with a carefulness he would never show to anyone else as he watches you sleep and drool onto the pillow while asking himself what he's even trying to accomplish here. He appreciates the pretty pink silk pajamas though (and the way they don't conceal your perky nipples or the outline of your virgin pussy)—makes you look so innocent and perfect in his eyes.
Stepbrother!Sae Who suddenly does get interested in all the filth Shidou rambles about before and after a game when your plump lips part and he hears you moaning his name in your sleep. His whole body goes still and his breath is catching in his throat with the fear of getting caught, but you just stir in your sleep before continuing your deep slumber like you haven't just made his cock twitch to half-mast in his pants with one simple action.
Stepbrother!Sae Who can't help himself from shoving his thumb between your teeth while his other hand completely removes the covers from your pretty body, making you shiver and suck his thumb in deeper. Your slightly parted legs are like an unspoken invitation and he tries to remember what the guys have talked about comes next.
Stepbrother!Sae Who slides two fingers through your slick folds underneath your panties and finds you already so wet and warm that he has to hold back a few embarrassing sounds himself. He experimentally places a little kiss against your covered mount and by the little shudder that goes through your body, he thinks he must do at least something right.
Stepbrother!Sae Who grows bolder with his actions at the lingering taste of you in the back of his throat. Careful enough so you don't wake up, he has your panties pushed to the side and his face buried between your legs.
Stepbrother!Sae Whose lips never met the ones of someone else and are now making out with your dripping cunt as he licks at the wet mess driven by pure lust and instinct—he humps against the bedpost for some relief of his own without better knowledge.
Stepbrother!Sae Who's a virgin after all and if he doesn't want to lag behind on locker room gossip he has to get at least some experience in. And who could be a better test subject than his sister with her naive personality and leaky cunt with a taste to die for?! He's so glad to have given this family thing a chance. In the future he will gladly return home again at the first opportunity presented.

All the siblings being the only ones home (parents out on a date or something) and they decide to watch a movie. Rin touching us under the blanket and we have to be quiet so Sae doesn’t notice
Alternatively, reader brings over a boy, maybe Isagi for example. Despite actually being just friends, Rin walks in on them in a compromising situation and refuses to believe it. Fucks the living daylights out of reader later cuz he’s jealous and scared to lose her
I imagine the itoshis would have a pool for training at their home. Let’s say reader decides to use the pool one day while Rins training, he has to fight the urge to stare at reader in her little bikini as he’s trying to train. Peels the same bikini off her later
Anyways more to come -🌱
Always happy to get new input and make my imagination run wild a little bit 🥰 Thank you very much 🌱 Gonna put those ideas right into my little, secret folder for later drabbles 🤭 But how about, for now, we combine all three of them??? 😈😈
Sae is visiting from Spain—not impressed with the new family addition. He treats you like air and focuses on training (and maybe showing off his skill and advantage to get under Rin's skin).
Rin has been on edge ever since the arrival of his archenemy and brother, and you don't know why. He's tense, focusing only on football and snapping at you for causing the slightest distractions. His touch has grown angry rather than worshipping whenever he drags you into his room and fucks you without an ounce of care for either of your pleasure, just a quick in and out to release his pent up frustration on your poor throat or tight cunt. He doesn't even cum most of the time, because his head is floating somewhere else.
You hate it. Every second of it. You miss your big brother Rin—the one whose eyes soften when he looks at you and who's protecting you from everything harsh in this world with a simple hug. You miss the way his glassy eyes roam over your face with appreciation when he takes you in missionary with deep strokes or the way he cradles you against his chest after making you cum with his mouth until he felt satisfied and you exhausted.
You've been left craving him, not knowing if you should give him space or put in more effort to receive his attention again. But when your parents leave you and your two stepbrothers alone for the weekend, you finally plan to get yourself some answers—thinking of it as an opportunity to be more open about your feelings without constantly hiding them to avoid the scoldings from your parents.
Sae's been taking a dip in the pool when you come outside in a cute little bikini set that you wore specifically for Rin. It's just, when Rin walks through the hallway and sees you conversing with Sae—one of your hands resting against his brother's bicep and your laughter ringing loudly even through the closed windows—jealousy burns bright and hot under his skin like the blazing sun you are standing under. So now that you're almost naked that bastard can acknowledge you? And since when do you find his annoying brother so funny? He barely even knows your name?!
And while he stands there, dumbfounded and slightly anxious to lose another thing that's dear to him to his brother, he has to witness Sae helping you into the water—his hands firmly gripping at your waist as he slowly lowers you from the edge of the pool like it doesn't even take him any effort. When you spot him inside the house, not even your sparkling eyes, bright smile and excited little wave can save Rin from spiraling. Now, he is sure he has to assert his dominance somehow. Make it clear to his brother and to you that he is the one taking care of you, that one brother is enough and that you are off limits.
Rin's never been affectionate with you outside of his room, too scared to get caught by others in things you two can't really explain. He's never taken the slightest risk to expose the deranged relationship you two have, but tonight gives him the perfect opportunity to mark you as his again and show you off a little right in front of his brother.
It starts innocently enough. A football game, a blanket, a pot of tea, the Itoshi brothers not shooting death glares for once and nobody there to ask questions about you being cuddled up so nicely to your stoic stepbrother. But when Rin's hands start to wander, you start to squirm. Slowly up and down your calf, a little further towards your inner thigh—kneading the flesh until it's probably a glowing red underneath the blankets and fingertips teasingly dipping inside your panties. The sharp inhale you take has Sae looking over with a scowl and the twitch of your hips almost makes you spill your tea.
Rin doesn't stop. The thrill of getting caught is running down his spine and his hand doesn't stop moving, eyes narrowed at his brother like he wishes him away. Your focus starts to waver, gaze locked with Rin as tears start to blur your vision and one palm is firmly pressed over your mouth to keep yourself from making noises. The football game long forgotten for the two of you.
It's intoxicating. The look on his face is exactly the one you've been craving as even Rin himself finally allows his thoughts to stray away from this unspoken competition with his brother and solely focus on you. Only when you cum on his fingers—two of them shoved and curled inside you for the past 30 minutes—does he wear that infuriatingly handsome expression and you swear you can see the corners of his mouth twitching into what some may call a smile.
That night for the first time in days, Rin sneaks into your room. He slips under the covers right behind you and holds you close, whispering apologies with gentle kisses to the crown of your head. A few minutes later he has you stuffed full and whimpering with slow rolls of his hips. Still holding you close, still whispering sweet nothing's right into your ear.
For the rest of the weekend Rin grows even bolder with his actions, wishing to never go back into hiding again and you're 100% sure Sae has to have caught on by now. But let's be honest here, Sae doesn't care about anything other than football. If it doesn't have to do with it, he doesn't want to waste his time with it. He couldn't care less about what his bimbo stepsister does with his shitty brother. He has not caught on to anything and he still doesn't remember your name.
Saw your stepcest with Kaiser so here me out on stepcest with Rin… 👀
We all know their parents weren’t really in the picture as kids so imagine one of them remarries and suddenly there’s another kid in the house. Say it was Rin’s dad who remarried which means the daughter that moved in with his new wife was used to walking around in skimpy outfits since it was only girls at home. Stepbro!Rin who tries to avoid her as much as possible at first only to run into her at the most inconvenient times. Example: having just woke up and heading to the bathroom to take care of his morning wood and running into her, or going to shower and her opening the door to use the bathroom while he was in the middle of undressing. The possibilities are endless
That. ... Has indeed unlimited potential 🤭
And while I do think that Kaiser knows it is technically wrong to feel like this for a family member (blood relation aside) and just doesn't care about it, Rin’s whole world would crumble and fall apart with an epiphany he never wanted to have.
Kaiser is so manipulative about it. He's telling lies left and right to hide the way he's grooming you into exactly what he needs. They fall easily from his lips as well, always having the perfect excuse ready whenever he's getting caught in rather suggestive situations with you. He's the type who has to hold himself back from laughing into your face at how stupid you can actually be.
Whereas Rin would go insane the first time he pops a boner around you and realizes it's because of you. He's a flustered mess and would not be able to look into your or anyone else's eyes at home for days. He's so ashamed... He'd visit a temple to atone for his sins, only to come back home to you wearing the flimsiest excuse of a skirt he's ever seen. He gets all jumpy whenever someone asks about you—stuttering and blushing as his brain tries to conjure some form of reasoning for his filthy thoughts—always suspecting that someone will find out he jerks it to the image of his new little sister. Sae gets really weirded out and irritated by his behavior…
The Itoshi brothers offer so many possibilities with their rather complicated relationship and overly competitive personalities. You planted so many ideas into my head anon hehe Maybe I'll make a series out of it with a few more of my favorite boys 🤔
Sae is acting like a prick, stomping on your feelings, ignoring the problems in your relationship and being his aloof self. But how will he cope when this time around you actually decide to leave it all behind for good?
cw: angst, breakup
Dating someone like Itoshi Sae wasn't easy. He was not the most affectionate, stoic and rather blunt—most often than not in a rude way—and despite picking up on the little things, Sae didn't care until you clearly worded what you wanted from him.
Football came first. Always. Not necessarily because Sae was interested in the career itself, no, he couldn't care less about the money and fame that came with being a thought after player. With Itoshi Sae, football represented something else. His obsession over training plans and winning, the pursuit of being the best of the best, was fueled by something else entirely. What exactly, you didn't know. His brother maybe or maybe... it was just self hatred.
Because despite not knowing what was driving Sae towards his goals, you knew it has something to do with a kind of deeply rooted anger that he tried to conceal behind that indifferent mask he wears.
You've been trying anything to make him open up and shatter the distance that he liked to keep between the two of you. You’ve been trying to be understanding and patient, but it’s hard when your boyfriend is so close yet so far away. Not to mention the dry spell that your intimate life was going through for the past few months.
You were supportive of his dreams, his career, his choices—sacrificing so many of your own over the past year just to play the dutiful, loving girlfriend.
You missed classes to watch his matches, didn't study for exams to accompany him during away games, you took care of him, the household and even cooked his meals according to his diet and training plan. You were okay with spending less time so he could pursue his dreams, but quite frankly, you've had enough of being ignored 24/7 and every time you think about Sae’s careless attitude and the lack of romance in your relationship, you only end up being even more angry.
You can’t even remember the last time you spent some quality time with your boyfriend in the past few months. Sae’s always traveling around the world for soccer games, practicing his skills, and even when he’s home he usually just watches replays to look over tactics.
And it all came to a head last month when he forgot your birthday. No “Happy Birthday” and no cuddling up in bed for 5 more minutes, just him telling you he will come home late after training before closing the door without even giving you a goodbye kiss.
You were disappointed at first but assured yourself that he did not forget, that maybe he had a surprise planned or comes home with some gifts and a cake. Itoshi Sae was a bit dense when it came to acknowledging his feelings, not great at showing affection outwardly, but surely your birthday would be an exception, the turning point to bring life into your relationship again.
But when he came home that evening, grumbling about how his teammates sucked while kicking his shoes into the corner, all your hopes shattered. Is this how little you meant to him, was football really worth that much more than you?
On the same night, you decided that two can play the game. No more rushing to the door and asking him how his day was when he got home, no more busting your ass cooking a nice meal for him, and no more putting in effort to try and look nice for him. You barely spoke to him anymore and even started sleeping in the guest room most nights.
He didn’t seem to notice, not mentioning anything about your change in behavior and it made you even angrier. It was like you were having a battle with yourself and losing. That’s until now when you’re sitting on the end of the couch, as far away from him as you could be while another soccer match plays on the flat screen.
You are glaring at him for the past 20 minutes from your end of the couch. Watching him sit there, sprawled out with his usual stoic attitude, legs spread and concentrating on a replay of his last game—one you haven't even bothered to attend.
It was a sight you once found attractive. In the first few months of your relationship where everything was great. Cuddled up together under blankets with Sae rambling about football and forgetting about team play statistics after 5 minutes into a make out session. Now it only reminds you of how detached and cold your love life has run.
“Is anything bothering you? Do you have any issues?” He speaks bluntly, clearly not impressed by your attitude as his head lolled to the side and his eyes meet yours for a second before resuming to his game. “If so, just say it. This beating around the bush is getting old and quite childish.”
What a jerk.
"Yeah, I do.” You grit out, anger and frustration bleeding into your tone. “Only one and it's sitting right next to me." You stand up from the couch, grab your phone from the coffee table and stalk towards the front door.
Sae finally tears his gaze from the screen, his brow furrowing slightly as he processes your words. His usual indifferent expression flickers with something resembling confusion—though whether it's genuine or just annoyance at being interrupted is hard to tell.
"Wait." His voice carries that same sharp, authoritative tone he uses on the field—expecting immediate compliance. "You’re storming off like a child throwing a tantrum. If you have something to say, don't waste my time with this nonsense and say it properly.”
He leans forward slightly, elbows resting on his knees, studying you with narrowed eyes. "I don’t have time for your games.” A pause. Then, with a scoff: "You’ve been acting strange for weeks. If you’re upset, spit it out. Otherwise, just stop with this pointless drama already."
In typical Sae fashion he's demanding answers without an ounce of self-awareness. As if your anger was just another inconvenience he had to deal with.
You put on your shoes, throwing him another icy glare when you put on your coat. Is he seriously not even gonna try to stop you? "You know what? Fuck you, Itoshi Sae. You haven't been interested in me or what I do in months, do both of us a favor and don't start now.”
You click your tongue and open the door, turning to him one last time. "Just watch your stupid game, eat a protein bar instead of a real meal or take a few laps around the block to kill some time. Do whatever you did before meeting me. When you were still single and alone. Because, hey, lucky you, you're single again!"
You slam the door shut behind you so hard it rattles and just before the tears can spill past your lashes, running down the stairs instead of taking the elevator. You're frustrated. Frustrated at yourself for running away, for even hurting about the break up in the first place.
As the door to the apartment slams shut, a stunned, almost bewildered, expression passes over Sae's face. He remains seated, staring at the door, before he slumps back against the couch, pinching the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
A long moment passes in utter silence. Then, with a muttered curse under his breath, he grabs the remote with slightly more force than necessary and shuts off the TV. He glances around the now quiet apartment, the realization of what just happened slowly sinking in...
"For crying out loud…" He mutters, raking a hand through his hair.
Eventually, he reaches for his phone, hesitates, then tosses it onto the couch with a low scoff, like the very idea of texting you was beneath him. But when the silence stretches too long: "...Tch. Like I care."
Yet when he stands up, shoving his hands in his pockets to leave the apartment for a run to clear his head, it’s obvious—for the first time in months—that he absolutely does care.
His run doesn't help to put order and reason into what had happened earlier. Yes, with the new season coming up—and maybe during the whole last season as well—he had been a bit more busy, but was it really that wrong? You knew football came first…
He’s sure that you will calm down, that when he comes home late after training the next day, you would watch your stupid romance movies while dinner was waiting on the table for him. You will talk it out and everything will go back to normal, to how it should be, with you by his side. Because if Sae is being honest to himself, he doesn't even know how to imagine a life without you in it.
But the only thing he finds after coming home the next day is an empty apartment. Not you sipping tea under a blanket while watching TV, no dinner on the table and no freshly washed track suits and jerseys neatly hanging to dry. Your clothes are gone from their wardrobe, your toothbrush thrown into the bin and the only thing you did left behind is that stupid plushie he won for you at the funfair on your first date—you never went anywhere without it.
Sae stands frozen in the doorway, grip tightening around the strap of his gym bag as he scans the empty apartment. The realization hits him like a misjudged tackle—sharp, sudden, and leaving him slightly winded.
He stares at the space, now dull and lifeless, his jaw tightening as his gaze sweeps over every detail—the silent absence of what used to be routine. His fingers curl slightly at his sides before he steps forward, grabbing the stupid plushie off the couch where you’d left it.
He scoffs, turning it over in his hands with an expression caught between irritation and something else—something sharper, more unsettled.
"She's so dramatic.” He murmurs, tossing it onto the couch—only for it to bounce and land pathetically on the floor. He ignores it, walking stiffly toward the kitchen, half-expecting dinner to somehow materialize. But the fridge is just as empty as the rest of the place.
A muscle in his jaw ticks. He slams the fridge door shut harder than necessary, his usual indifference fraying at the edges. After a long moment, he pulls out his phone, hesitates, then types out a text—only to delete it three times before finally settling on something characteristically blunt:
"You’re being dramatic. Come home. This is ridiculous."
Sent. No explanation, no apology—just a demand, like always. He stares at the screen for a moment, then shoves the phone back into his pocket with a muttered curse.
Still, when no reply comes after an hour, he finds himself pacing—restless, agitated. He picks up the plushie again, against his better judgment and scowls at it before brushing it off and placing it back on the cushions with deliberate precision.
He's sitting on the couch. The plushie stares at him. He glares back. For once, the silence isn’t comforting. And for once... he doesn’t know what to do about it.
The next evening Shidou trails home alongside Sae after training. Not that he needed that man anywhere near him today. Sae is already enough on edge without Shidou's troublesome presence and he never really quite liked how the pink haired devil looked at you like you are the next prey he could sink his teeth into. But now you are gone and Shidou is probably the only person Sae has in his life who's willing to spend time with him outside of the football field.
When Shidou steps through the threshold, he whistles low under his breath. "Yooo, she took that much color with her, huh?"
The whole evening Shidou couldn't shut up about the fact that you are gone, that Sae let you slip away, that he made a mistake. His cocky laugh vibrating through the apartment when he'd boast about how much better care he would take of a woman like you and to Sae’s own surprise Shidou unknowingly brings a lot of his carelessness to his attention.
How does Shidou know when your birthday is and why can't he remember what he has gifted you for the past 2 years? How does Shidou know that you had trouble passing one of your classes and had to work on essays for extra credit? Why does Shidou remember the name of your best friend and he didn't even notice you regularly met with other people?
Sae sits rigidly on the couch for the whole evening, fingers clenched around his knee as Shidou prattles on, each word like a needle pressing deeper into his pride. His jaw tightens whenever Shidou casually mentions another detail—something he couldn’t even recall.
"Shut up!” Sae snaps, but it lacks its usual bite. He’s not used to feeling... off-balance. Especially not because of something as trivial as a relationship. Except this time it wasn’t trivial, was it?
Shidou laughs, throwing an arm over the back of the couch. "What, you really didn’t know any of that? Damn, man. No wonder she left."
Sae’s eye twitches. He stands abruptly, stalking toward the kitchen just to escape the conversation—only to freeze when he passes the spot where your favorite mug used to sit. You always drank tea from it while studying.
Shidou follows, unbothered. "Seriously, dude, how do you not know your own girlfriend’s—"
"I said, shut up!" Sae snarls, whirling around. His usual cold composure cracks for a split second—something raw flickering beneath—before he regains control. "You don’t know what you’re talking about."
Shidou raises his hands, grinning. "Oh, I definitely do. And you my friend, you messed up bad."
Sae exhales sharply through his nose, fingers curling into fists. He should punch him. He should kick him out. Instead, he does something worse—something he never does. "...What else did she say?" The words are stiff, forced out like an admission of defeat.
Shidou blinks, then grins even wider. "Oho? So now you care?" Sae glares at him, but there’s no real heat behind it. Just frustration—at Shidou, at himself, at the fact that he’s asking at all. "Just answer the damn question."
Shidou leans against the counter, smug. “Nah. If you wanna know, go ask her yourself." Sae stiffens. The idea is... unfamiliar. Apologizing? Chasing after someone? That wasn’t how things worked. People came crawling to him, not the other way around.
Shidou let's himself fall back on the couch, sprawling out like an exhausted starfish and eyes already closing. "Gonna crash on your couch, buddy. We'll have training tomorrow morning anyways. We'll take that nice car of yours, yeah?"
It was typical Shidou fashion, coming over uninvited and staying despite Sae wanting him to be gone. It happened a few times in the past when you two were still together as well.
"Such a shame you let her go though, man. Her breakfast was always fire before morning drills." A heavy sigh of Shidou, but the smirk doesn't leave his face, like he's doing this on purpose now just to get on Sae's nerves.
"And she always made sure her hubby had everything packed for the day, waddling around the apartment trying to be silent when her insomnia wouldn't let her sleep..." Shidou chuckles at the memory of waking up to you rummaging through Sae's things for a trip to France. Another habit of yours he didn't even notice nor ever acknowledged, a reminder that he didn't even know you suffered from insomnia. "We had some good conversations those nights…” Shidou opens one eye to throw him a look that said: it's all your fault for ignoring what's important.
Sae still leans against the kitchen counter, grip tightening on the edge until his knuckles turn white. Every word from Shidou feels like a scalpel peeling back layers he never bothered to acknowledge—your insomnia, your silent efforts, the fact that Shidou of all people knew more about your habits than he ever did.
He wants to snap. To throw Shidou out. To pretend none of this matters. But the apartment feels too quiet without the sound of you moving around, and the weight of that absence is suddenly unbearable. With a sharp exhale, he grabs his keys from the counter. "Get out." His voice is low, dangerous.
Shidou cracks an eye open, unimpressed. "Uh, no? You got a spare room or something? Your couch is—"
"I said get out." Sae doesn't raise his voice, but the edge in it is enough to make even Shidou pause. For once, Shidou doesn't argue. He sits up slowly, studying Sae's expression—then whistles. "...Damn. You actually regret it."
Sae doesn't dignify that with a response. He just jerks his chin toward the door, jaw clenched. Shidou stands, stretching lazily. "Fine, fine. But for the record? You should go after her. And maybe, maybe, try not being a self-absorbed ass this time." He grins, sauntering toward the door. "Just a thought."
The door clicks shut behind Shidou, leaving Sae alone in the silence. He stands there for a long moment, staring at the spot where your things used to be—then abruptly grabs his jacket and heads out, keys in hand.
His phone weighs heavy in his pocket. He pulls it out, thumb hovering over your contact before he hesitates. What would he even say? And after a long moment, he types—slow, deliberate:
"You forgot your plushie."
Sent. It’s not an apology. It’s not even close. But it’s the closest he’s ever gotten to admitting. He doesn't know where he's going. But for the first time in his life, he's not walking away from something—he's chasing it.
