tbh ive always been of the mindset that while aaron and neil dont get along, the idea that they full-blown hate each other is exaggerated by the fandom because people dont understand that you dont need to go all in and make everything an exaggerated character trait that flattens out the character because like yeah aarons pissed off about the situation with katelyn but he looked upset about neil being hurt in baltimore when neil made it to the hotel room, he didnt say anything to the fbi on neils behalf to protect him just like the rest of the foxes, he didnt refute nickys claim that itd be a unanimous vote for neil to stay after baltimore, he helped matt move the couch for them all to sleep in matt and neils room after baltimore and was part of the sleepover without anyone talking about it, and he congratulated neil after learning about ichirous deal because he was glad neil wouldnt be killed. these are all things that prove he doesnt completely hate neil. they spent most of the year with neil being roped into the monsters little family and got to know each other, even if only a little. they dont hate each other, they just happened to have a major disagreement and clash because theyre pretty similar

BUT ALSO

i also think the funniest possible outcome to their not getting along is they start off tolerating each other and then by graduation they end up best friends who torment the others with their inside jokes. andrew in particular is torn on whether or not hes pleased or annoyed. because like on one hand his brother gets along with his partner thats a good thing. but on the other they need to shut the fuck up they get along too well

Tonight I am wasting my time remembering how, when I mentioned retrying Dinah's CGC, I was met with "Why!?" and "I would never put my working dog in that situation!" by the schutzhund people in my life.

So. Why?

Because I didn't even know what schutzhund was when I put a deposit on this litter. Because i purchased a balanced dog with a beautiful temperament from one of the most versatile breeds in the world, and I want to do more than schutzhund with her. That has always been the goal. Her maternal grandparents have many accomplishments in many sports. Her mother does as well. I like that about her pedigree. I have always wanted that for the two of us.

I did not purchase a "more drive more better" dog. I could have, and i chose not to. I do not need her to live and breathe for schutzhund. She does not live in a kennel and only come out to potty or do schutzhund things. If I owned one of those dogs, I also would not put them in a CGC situation. I would live and breathe schutzhund things and embrace the dog I had, because that would've been my goal in purchasing such a dog.

It shouldn't matter that I want to do different things with my dog. Everyone owns dogs differently. Everyone has different goals with their dogs. That's okay. It is great, actually.

I do not need to feel small and stupid for wanting to try Dinah's CGC again. It is okay that I want to earn our CGC.

She is my dog and we can do whatever we want.

It irritates me that Interview with Vampire's use of unreliable narrators has emboldened some Lestat fans to act like Louis and Claudia are pathological liars and everything Lestat says is gospel. I have a love hate relationship with Lestat. I can agree that the passage of time, the manipulation of Louis memories and the resentment that built up over the years have all impacted his portrayal in the show thus far.

But that man is not an angel. He is also an unreliable narrator. Ofcourse his pov is going to paint him in a better light. It's his pov. He has childhood trauma and a fear of abandonment/isolation and that's sad. I feel for him sometimes but that doesnt change the fact that he's a cheater and he was extremely abusive to both Louis and Claudia. The whole point of the show is that they're all terrible people. Until we acknowledge Lestat is terrible. Then people start rewriting history.
