The Underground -Part Eight 1/2- Yoonmin AU
“Who else are we picking up?” Hoseok asks from the driver seat.
Jungkook turns in the front seat, curious about my answer. For some reason I feel my cheeks heat up.
“His niece attends the Academy. We’ve become friends these past couple of weeks” I shrug their curiosity off. I glance at my phone.
‘We’re on our way!’ “Okay! I'm ready.’’
“Do you have his address pulled up?”
“Yeah,” I lean forward between the seats so I can show him my phone. “He says he's ready. It shouldn't take us too long to get there.”
Hoseok glances at the screen, but then his eyes go wide and he slams on his breaks. Jungkook and I jerk forward. Good thing we are in a neighborhood with no other cars in sight.
“What the fuck, Hyung?” Hoseok ignores Jungkook and whips around to face me.
“What?” I ask. His reaction is really confusing. “Do you know the address?”
Hoseok looks at me strangely before turning back around to drive.
“Do-do you need the map?”
“No,” he chuckles. “I know the house. I should’ve known.”
“Huh? Do you know Yoongi, Hyung?” I lean forward even more in the seat.
“You could say that,” he chuckles as he pulls up to a house.
Well shit, it’s a huge fucking house. I gap up at the mansion.
“Holy shit,” Jungkook whispers as he does the same.
I had known Josie came from a rich family but… oh my god, I didn't realize just how rich they were.
“He doesn't live here,” Hoseok laughs as he puts the car in park. “This is Josie’s house.”
I can see the door swinging open. Yoongi walks out with Namjoon Hyung right behind him. It looks as if they were arguing. Jo dances around their feet, but she doesn’t seem concerned.
“Oh no,” Hoseok rolls eyes as he lowers Jungkook's window. “If we let them, they’ll argue for hours.”
“Hey!” Hoseok's loud voice makes me jump.
Yoongi looks over with narrow eyes. Namjoon glares at us once he sees Hoseok.
“You!” Namjoon points and stomps over to the car. “You're going too?” he whips back around to Yoongi. “You're both going out?!”
Yoongi rolls his eyes and stalks over. “Joon! Would you calm down? I didn't know he was going too. We’ll…,” He glances over at me before clearing his throat. “We won't be out late. I promise. Okay?”
Namjoon glances between all of us. When his eyes fall upon me they soften. He sighs and turns back to his brother-in-law.
“Be careful, Yoongi. I’ll see you tonight.” He disappears into his house.
I slide over as Yoongi opens the back door. When he closes it, he reaches over and slaps the back of Hoseok's head.
“I almost had him calmed down, you idiot,” he grumbles. Hoseok chuckles as he drives off.
“Do you need to be somewhere else tonight? We don't have to go if it’s an inconvenience to you.” Yoongi looks over at me with his familiar expression, the one I haven't quite figured out yet.
“Not until really late tonight,” he smiles at me. “Joon just worries and Hobi likes to rile him up.”
“So, you really do know each other.”
“Sadly,” Yoongi Mutters from beside me.
“Yep!” Hoseok beams from the front seat. “We’ve known each other for years!”
“How did you meet?” I turn to Yoongi.
“He wouldn’t stop bugging me for producing tips,” He leans over and whispers to me.
“I interned at his father’s company for a year back when my own father was pressuring me to get into business,” Hoseok says, ignoring Yoongi’s mumbling. I giggle at Yoongi’s exasperated expression.
“That's where I met Jin and Yoongs,” He smiles at me in the rearview mirror.
His eyes narrow as I cover my mouth, stifling my giggles. I glance at yoongi to see him smiling. His smile… oh, god, has me melting. A gummy grin that causes butterflies to invade my stomach.
“You should smile more, Hyung,” I tell him softly.
Yoongi’s eyes meet mine. “For you Jimin, I will,” he matches my voice, still smiling.
I can feel my cheeks heating up as I shift in my seat.
What the hell is wrong with me?
I laugh loudly at Jungkook’s story.
The alcohol is already setting in. My head buzzes slightly as I lean back in the private booth.
“It was so embarrassing,” Jungkook groans into his hands. “They made me nervous! They were just so damn hot and I had the bright idea to tell them my pants were soaked.”
“Gah, Kook,” Hoseok giggles as he takes another shot.
“Why were your pants wet again?” Yoongi sips from a glass. I can't remember what he ordered.
Jungkook’s eyes go wide as he continues rambling. “That’s the thing! We had just gone on a water ride when they went to go grab food. So when I blurted it out I just went, ‘My Pants are wet now...But not because I wet myself!’”
Jungkooks head bangs against the table as we all laugh loudly. “I was so embarrassed I left and never explained why my pants were truly wet.”
“Your teenage experiences sound interesting,” Hoseok cackles.
“That’s awful, Kook!” I giggle as I shift and now... and now I’m leaning against Yoongi.
He doesn’t move away though, just continues smiling at an embarrassed Jungkook.
I’ll blame it on me being tipsy as I lean in even closer. He's warm... and comforting against my side.
He shifts. I sat up straight. Shit, maybe he didn’t like it. But then... his arm moves to rest on the booth behind me. He looks over and smiles at me encouragingly. If I wasn't tipsy I would never lean into him but I am, so screw it.
“We should play a game!” Hoseok exclaims, making me jump and look over at them.
“I’m worried,” Yoongi groans from beside me.
“What kind of game Hyung?” Jungkook bounces excitedly where he sits.
“It’s called Straight Face!” He hurriedly scoots forward in his chair and grabs one of the paper menus. “Does anyone have a pen?”
Yoongi leans slightly into me as he pulls one out of his pocket, handing it to Hoseok.
“So we write down a sexy phrase, mix it up, and then we draw. Then you have to try to read it with a straight face. If you laugh,” he points at me causing me to giggle, “you have to take a shot.”
Hoseok rips up the menu giving us a few strips of paper each.
We pass around the pen, already laughing at what we write. We push the papers to the middle.
“Okay, okay. I’ll go first,” Jungkook dives into the center and grabs one of the scraps.
“Suck…,” He purses his lips, trying not to smile. “Suck…”
I press my hand to my lips, stifling my giggles. Yoongi’s eyes sparkle, Hoseok buries his head in his hands.
“Suck my…” A giggle escapes Jungkook’s lips. “Suck my big... toe.”
A laugh burst from within me while Hoseok’s shoulder shake from his laughter.
“What the fuck?” Yoongi laughs. “Who wrote that?”
I giggle harder and bury my face in Yoongi’s shoulder.“I'm going to guess,” Jungkook gasps for air. “It was mister giggle box over there.”
I nod against Yoongi's shoulder, his scent invading my senses.
I reach for a shot with the others.
“Okay. Next!” Hoseok is the next to dive to the center of the table to grab one of the phrases.
His forehead furrows in confusion as he stares intently at the words.
There's a moment of silence before the eruption of laughter.
“P-pudin?” Yoongi giggles and looks over at me.
I laugh harder as I put my hand on his thigh to keep me upright.
“Pudin,” I nod at him, tears leaking from my eyes from the laughter.
“Okay Chim. You're next.”
I tentatively reach for a paper.
I’m giggling before I even say anything.
“You already lost!” Hoseok yells, exasperated.
I lean into Yoongi, who takes the paper from my hand.
“My pants are wet,” he drops the paper after reading it, laughing,
Hoseok over falls out of his seat laughing, while Jungkook screams, offended.
“That's not a sexy phrase!”
A third shot quickly follows our laughter.
Yoongi bites his lips as he reads his phrase.
I perk up at my name. Someone wrote a phrase about me? I lean over, hoping to catch a glimpse of it but he leans away, a smile tugging at his lips.
I stop struggling to see it and scoff.
“Who the fuck wrote that one?!” I shriek. “Yoongi Hyung is just as tall as I am!”
Yoongi was the first to break. His laughter echoed in the room, followed by the other two.
Yoongi was the one who stopped us after we lost the seventh round.
“So, what's next?” Jungkook looks expectantly at us.
Hoseok and Jungkook jump up to pick the music on the small sound system in the private room. Before the music even starts, I'm already swaying.
Yoongi smirks at the other before he looks over at me. His eyes darken. My grin grows.
I sway my hips and move my arms to the beat of the song.
Fantastic Baby by BigBang.
I sing the words as I stalk closer to Yoongi.
I pull at the hem of my shirt. God it's really hot in here. Yoongi's eyes follow my hands. He visibly swallows and breathes heavier.
My heart soars at his reaction. I truly do affect him. Good.
When I reach him I lean forward and put my hands on his knees, still moving to the
beat. Yoongi's gaze moves from my hands to my face.
All of the sudden I’m pulled away. I let out a cry of protest at the intruder. Jungkook turns me around and starts dancing, imploring me to join him. His eyes are wide with shock.
Yura flashes through my mind. God... I’m such a bastard.
We dance for a while. I quickly forget that I was going to give Yoongi a show.
After a few songs, everyone is sipping water, trying to sober up.
I groan. I still have an underground dance performance. So does Jungkook and he looks to be in even worse shape than me.
Yoongi glares at the brightness of his phone.
“Jin is dropping Joon off and Joon is going to be our driver,” Yoongi grumbles before sliding his phone back into his pocket.
Jungkook mumbles something about a taxi.
“I’m sure we can drop you off whenever you need to go".
Jungkook and I share a look.
“You can just drop us both off at my house. That’d be great. Thank you,” I mumble.
A few minutes later I'm shoved in the backseat between Yoongi and Jungkook, the latter already asleep against the window. Yoongi looks out the window, it seems he’s almost sober again.
I lean my head back against the seat, my eyelids getting heavier and heavier...
I wake up with my face pressed against something warm. A wonderful scent invades my senses once again.
Yoongi smiles down at me where I’m pressed against his side and shoulder.
“We made it to your home,” Yoongi whispers to me.
I sit up and look out the window and sure enough, we are parked outside of my apartment complex.
I look back at Yoongi, his face now inches from mine.
It takes everything in me not to lean forward that few inches again.
How could one person affect me in just a few short weeks more than someone I’ve... ‘loved’ for years?
“Get some sleep, yeah?” He says softly.
I nod silently and climb out of the car.
I stop and lean down to look in the car again.
“Um, thank you... for coming with us tonight.”
“I had fun,” Yoongi grins softly at me. “Thank you for inviting me.”
I feel my cheeks heat up as I shut the door and walk to my apartment to get ready for our performances. Jungkook was right behind me.
I feel eyes on my back as I disappear into the building.
