its actually crazy to me how milkvans and some of ga think the couple is ok now that mike made his big love confession, like, even if they were going to be endgame for some reason at the end, theres no way the duffers would have tha lame ass monologue be the "final version" of a fucking "i love you" confession, they are def breaking up at the beggining of s5

I get ya, Anon. Only reason I can't be surprised at this point is because big grand gesture love confessions have always been seen as endgame in movies/shows, the same ones El consumes, except it doesn't work for milkvan cuz neither have that spark Byler and other ST couples have. They don't support each other, they both don't understand each other, and one ILY is not changing the bigger problem here which is the lack of heart to heart convos.

Mike was talking at El in the monologue, that is not a 2 way discussion. She can't respond to him and as far as Mike's concerned, he doesn't know if she can hear him. This is nothing compared to Byler's heart to hearts and the shed scene. Reason why the shed scene works is cuz Will found a way to respond, to show Mike he was listening to him by using Morse code.

El was only convulsing on the table. She didn't give any signs in her physical body that she can hear Mike's words. In the mindspace, El is reacting but Mike can't see that. Again, they aren't on the same page quite literally. It's solidified their breakup alright, especially when again Mike can't name anything about El besides lies and how she's a superhero.
