After about two months, it's finally done (kind of), so you can read the entire hypothetical/what-if write-up of the Castlevania Aria of Sorrow fake adaptation here.

Before Annabeth could even tell him that she was nervous, that maybe it wasn’t a good idea to surprise his mother with not only Annabeth’s presence at Sunday breakfast but also the news that they were back together, Percy was pushing open the door to his mom’s apartment.

“Mom!” he called, holding Annabeth’s hand tightly in his own. 

“Hi, honey!” Sally’s voice rang through the hallway, indicating she was in the kitchen. Annabeth’s stomach grumbled at the sweet scent of pancakes.

“I have a surprise for you,” he sang, walking further into the house. They stood in the doorway of the kitchen where Sally faced away from them. Her brown curls were tied back with a white bandana.

Eddie stands at the kitchen, with his hands tight around a scalding cup of coffee, wearing the BEST DAD socks Carla and Christopher got him for Christmas, while Christopher goes to the park with his friends after school for the first time and then gets the bus home by himself and feeling weirdly, unexpectedly, unstitched by it all.
