it’s from a different part of the pig than american bacon is. American bacon is from the pork belly while canadian bacon is from the pork loin At least i /think/ that’s the difference.

ok, that makes sense. why is it a different shape? wouldn't it be more cost effective to have it in strips like (i believe) regular bacon is? is it marketing?

ill stick to the turkey bacon
