Rose wrapped her arms around the Doctor, smiling into his chest at the way his arms flailed for a moment before settling around her loosely.

“I’ve missed you,” Rose whispered, words practically swallowed by the fabric of his waistcoat and the cavernous space of the console room. “I’ve missed you so much.”

Words stuck in his throat and he buried his noise in her hair, trying to convey how much his hearts had ached for the years and years she had been gone by the tightness of his grip and the pounding of his hearts beneath her ears.

They were both just glad to finally be back home in each other’s arms.

A Million Holes Poked In The Soul - Part 2 (Broadchurch) by @nannyogg123​

It chronicles how the infamous Sandbrook case ripped Alec Hardy's life apart. It's the longest story I wrote, full of heartbreak and melodrama. It's visceral, it's wordy, and by no means perfect, but it's something I am extremely proud off that I finished it and that it has touched some people out there. [Also, it does come with a complementary virtual tissue box, a snuggle blanket, and a comforting beverage of your choice ;)]

I wrote a little something from every episode of season 1, and while sometimes I'm sure I picked popular moments to capture, I really tried to think of different ways to show introspective moments or interactions/missing scenes with other characters. It's the first part of a long project I have planned, and I'm pretty proud of it so far. :)
