Embodiment & Incarnations

Embodiment is a state of being every clan cat strives to attain.

Not for any sense of status, while it does garner awe due to the weight of accomplishment should you become an Incarnation, it's not a High Rank.

Becoming an Incarnation can be essentially seen as a significant milestone in finding one's self and cementing their identity. It's Embodying who you are, who you were and who you will be.

Embodiment, is the state of a cat who Knows who they are, their soul strengthening and solidifying within their body. It does not last for long, even one being so assured of their identity won't be sure of who they are later on.

An Incarnation, from the name, is a cat capable of Embodying themselves to their full ability, usually for longer periods and not just flickers of power. They are cats who can tap into their potential and more, the truly exceptional ones capable of feats akin to The Seven.

It's not exactly rare, even cats that will later on have the suffixes of -fur or -stripe, can Embody themselves for a moment but Incarnations are few and far between.

It's during the late last four moons as a warrior that usually has an apprentice start showing signs of Embodiment.

Of course, there are a few who manage to show it early or become Incarnations even, examples being Longtail of Thunderclan (Incarnation by his early 9th moon) and Tigerclaw (Showed signs of Embodiment around his 7th moon, Incarnated at 10th moon)

Names have power, hence the shared culture in all the clans in making sure their names are close to who they are and can be. It helps cement their Identity more.

That's not to say this is the only way. All names can have power but it helps if you actually know what you were named for. (Example: Tiny is an Incarnation :])
