The shifter was lost, confused, and tired from his mission. He was close to giving up right when his nose tingled with the pungent scent of wet dog. The bear shifter instantly felt a wave of hope rush through him. He ran as fast as his furry legs would take him to the scent he picked up.
The wolves heard rustling and extremely heavy thuds close to the border along with a strange non-human scent. “Sam what the hell is that?” asked Jared in the mind link. “Does it matter? It’s on our lands, let’s go!” ordered Sam, clearly angry at the intruder. Leah seemed a bit dazed by the smell and didn’t move for a moment. “Leah come on!” barked the third in command, Paul. She hastily obliged and sprinted to the border.
The bear shifter stopped dead in his tracks once he heard what sounded like a herd of bulls coming his way. After less than a minute, the wolves and y/n were in front of each other. Jacob snarled and went to attack the bear right before Sam ordered him to stay calm. Y/n quickly shifted into his human form to show he didn’t mean any harm. The wolves immediately realized that he’s some sort of shifter. Sam stayed right at the border and watched the man while the rest of the wolves went behind bushes and came back out with two legs. Sam then took his turn and went to change as well and returned in the same fashion.
He had a pair of shorts and boxers in his hand and harshly tossed them at the man so that he could explain himself without his junk in their faces.
“Who the fuck are you?” Paul demanded. “I was just getting ready to tell you if you all would calm down for a second, goddamn.” y/n shot back. “Don’t forget who’s lands you’re on cub” Quil spoke up. The shifter shook his head in annoyance as he saw what seemed to be the only female in the group walk in between him and the pack. “Will you guys chill and let him talk for a second good god!” Leah exclaimed with the same level of annoyance that y/n possessed.
It’s like everything changes. It's not gravity holding you to the Earth, it’s them. You would do anything, be anything for them.
After the initial imprinting process was over, y/n broke the silence and spoke, “My names y/n, I’m the last of my kind as far as I know.” Leah looked at him for a second with a shocked look on her face. As much as she wanted to imprint she never would’ve expected it to actually happen. “I’m Leah” she said and plastered a cheeky grin on her face. The wolves relaxed, accepting the fact that he was no longer a threat.
