Not to sound rude but no one is obligated to put their age on their bio. You can go silently on a witch-hunt. There are random people who stumble upon fanfic writers (Yes some underage some not) but let me assure you no one is going to read your random post about putting age in their bio. Age is personal information. People are allowed to have open blogs and they shouldn't share such information. On the Internet everyone is free to do whatever they like be it witch-hunt or reading.
i fully get where you’re coming from and this doesn’t sound rude at all. However I will say this: i’m not necessarily saying they have to put their EXACT age in. I just meant some sort of indicator being like “hey, i’m not a minor, please just let me vibe” you know? I apologize if i implied that everyone has to have their EXAVT age in there because some people dont want that information out there and thats fine, but just some sort of indicator works. I dont care if they lie bc how am i supposed to know if they’re telling the truth or not you know? You do you. If you wanna do that, thats your business. (i’m not condoning this at all but also like how the fuck am i supposed to know) I’m also not saying they arent allowed to have open blogs but I’m an 18+ account. I make it very clear that i do not want you interacting with my account if you’re underage/an ageless blog as it makes ME uncomfortable.
I want people to be able to enjoy my fics. I want people to be able to enjoy EVERY writer’s fics. But many writers are uncomfortable if they dont know if their audience is 18+. I personally feel bad for blocking some people, especially if their account isn’t an empty space, but i genuinely do not want you interacting with my account unless there is something telling me that you arent a minor.
