Day 9 :) Compass Pose!!!! Picture on the Right is from 1/10/17 Picture on the Left is from today 3/9/20. Okay 3 years right? It may seem like only a little bit has changed but I believe out of the entire March Yogini 🧘♀️ Challenge Compass Pose has seen the most amount of progress. I only say this because right away I see three major differences: 1.) My left hip is grounded 2.) My right foot is tucked in where it’s supposed to be & 3.) My left leg is closer to straight with much less force. I brightened the pictures so you may be able to see that my right hip is wayyyy off the ground in the left picture. I didn’t realize it then, but the foundational work that is crucial to the safety of your practice is also required for a more honest assessment of what your body needs in your practice. In the past few months I’ve been focused on sticking to a yoga schedule that pushes me to work a certain region of the body strength-wise or stretch-wise and a lot of the time both! For example, today I worked on backbends & legs 😅 I’m tired guys lol my legs feel like cement but my hips are as light as a feather lol I bring this up because these past few months have been the most consistent yoga schedule I’ve ever had and that’s important to me because I’d rather be consistent and do a 15-30 minute video everyday then a full hour three times a week. I’m excited to see this challenge in a few years and update 💖 I feel like I’m just starting yoga even though it’s been so many years. I’m happy to learn more and am grateful for my practice and for my ability to move my body everyday 💘💕✨💫🧘♀️ Hope all is well with you & your yogi journey #namaste #marchyogachallenge #yogachallenge #yoga #yogini #yoginisofinstagram #yoginilife #yoginilifestyle #smile #practiceandalliscoming #breathe #itsokaytomakemistakes #inthewordsofmel #liveandlearn #focus #love #becompassionate #yogaeverydamnday https://www.instagram.com/p/B9hts1BlRul/?igshid=1oyklapv34k55
Hello my fellow henchmen in evil, I wanted to say something that I hope will improve your day. If you ever think to yourself, " why did I say that, that was so stupid," I can top ya.
I was born with Autistic Face blindness, which means I have difficulty recognizing faces; even with people I've known for a long time. I can't control it, I'll just be looking at someone and suddenly their file is deleted in my brain.
So during a group project today I was sitting near a person who looked very familiar to me, but I didn't quite remember who they were; they remembered me though and I felt guilty. So I said, " excuse me, I'm so sorry. I have Autistic face blindness and I cannot remember your name. Could you please tell me?"
And the person not only told me their name, but told me we had another class together and I spent some time apologizing profusely. They weren't offended, but it was still kind of embarrassing.
So please remember that you are not the most embarrassing person in the world,( don't lie sometimes we feel like we are,) there are always people who make mistakes and struggle with stuff. This situation has played out differently before for me; so I'm grateful they were understanding about this. So feel free to ask people questions when you're confused or forget something. People would rather have you ask for a reminder than not at all.
This!! THIS IS HOW TO BE A DECENT HUMAN BEING! THIS IS HOW I TRIED TO WORK IT OUT WITH RENA! BUT NO MORGAN AND OTHERS TREATED ME LIKE SHIT EVEN THOUGH WE APOLOGISED! BIG BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO @writersplus FOR BEING A DECENT HUMAN BEING AND APOLOGISING. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES AND WE ARE ONLY HUMAN. I look forward to continue working with @writersplus and the team. I'm so so happy that we ARE friends again. #itsokaytomakemistakes #alwayssaysorryifyouarewrong #sorryisnthardtosay #bekindtoyourselfandothers💕 #bekindertoyourself https://www.instagram.com/p/CPEG-28rY3N/?utm_medium=tumblr
We lose those battles as often as we succeed. The key, though, win or lose, is to never fail. And the only way to fail is not to fight. So fight until you can't fight anymore. Never let go. Never give up. Never run. Never surrender. Fight the good fight, you fight even when it seems inevitable you're about to go down swinging #nevergiveup #alwayskeepfighting #youareenough #youareloved #itsokaytomakemistakes https://www.instagram.com/p/CHfbFg6JvRR/?igshid=mcnpic59pv23
I’m with you. No matter what else you have in your head I’m with you and I love you. #nevergiveup #alwayskeepfighting #youareenough #youareloved #itsokaytomakemistakes https://www.instagram.com/p/CHX8frMJwKg/?igshid=eiz3y6ybos5t
And if today, all you did was hold yourself together, I am proud of you. #nevergiveup #alwayskeepfighting #youareenough #youareloved #itsokaytomakemistakes #itsaboutthejourney #keepmovingforward #itsokaytobedifferent #itsokaytoloveyourself #itsokaytohavebaddays https://www.instagram.com/p/CHLLjkZJ6W5/?igshid=e07ycaij8pi0
Being perfect? Na, that's not for us.
