I listened to the audiobook of My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. This is my first book from Hendrix and it’s set in Charleston, SC during the 80’s. “Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since 5th grade. But once in high school something happens to Gretchen late at night at a friend’s house. Weird things start to happen around Gretchen and Abby is convinced she’s possessed. Can their friendship beat whatever is controlling Gretchen?” I enjoy books set in my adopted state. And the 80’s references were a blast (Yes, we all cried at E.T. ‘Phone home’) Hendrix writes some messy characters and has an easy to read (or lusten to) style. I found myself cheering for Abby, hoping things would work out. We’ve all driven a ‘Dust Bunny’ at som point. Really liked the ending that Hendrix gave us. I don’t read much horror, but there are certainly horror elements here.
