Bug AU:
Ranboo decides to have company over. So he invites Karl and Sapnap and spends the evening on the porch. That’s when Tommy flys by and startles Karl. Karl admits to being afraid of moths and Tommy (being the gremlin that he is) overhears and immediately begins chasing down Karl. Chaos ensues until Ranboo intervenes and has to shield Tommy from getting smushed by Sapnap.
Tommy would be terrified. He was only having a bit of fun, but then the one human actually tried to kill him. That's about the moment when he realized his actions had some major consequences. He's beyond happy that Ranboo stopped this other human, but he almost died regardless.
Ranboo tries to carefully explain that this moth is just a little gremlin who frequents his garden and doesn't want him killed, without mentioning how human-like the moth was. It was difficult, but he was at least able to calm Sapnap down.
Tommy wanted to apologize to Karl, but would much rather not reveal himself. So he just watched from afar and hoped the human understood. Imagine his surprise when the human shakily approaches him and hesitantly reaches out a hand, barely looking at Tommy. Tommy carefully grabs on the finger and nuzzles it a bit, thinking this could be his apology. Karl looks at Tommy in amazement and to his own surprise, allows Tommy to hold onto his finger.
Sapnap watches nervously and Ranboo watches with a knowing smile, knowing that his little moth friend was trying to apologize. Karl still did not like moths, but he figured he could try and befriend this one to attempt to get over his fear. Maybe. He freaked out again once Tommy took to the air and flew off
