Decided to change up the lore: Tubbo is friends with two researchers, George and Jack Manifold. The two invite him and Fundy to an expedition to a storm that has been mysteriously staying still in the middle of the Atlantic. What could possibly go wrong, they end up getting eaten by giant monsters or some bs like that?

Tubbo packed his suitcase up, going through a mental check list of things he was supposed to bring. Clothes, check. Underwear, definitely there as he double checked (he didn’t want a repeat of his last trip.). Socks, check. Tripod, check. Camera, check. Passport, check. Boarding ticket, check. Editing laptop and charger, check. Benson, Benson?

Oh fuck where’s benson now? Tubbo thought, searching his office for his light up duck. Something told him he’d need it. After a few minutes he found it and gently tossed it into his suitcase. He went to zip it up, practically having to sit on it to get it to shut.

He went through one last mental checklist before his phone rang, it was George calling him. Tubbo answers the phone as he hails his suitcase off of the bed.

“Tubbo where are you?” George asks. “We’re outside your house!”

“Yeah, I’m coming down!” Tubbo replies, nearly falling down the stairs. He stumbles out of the house with a quick good bye to his parents and scurries out the door. As far as they knew, he was just going on vacation with his friends to the Caribbean

Tubbo hurriedly threw his suitcase in the trunk of Jack’s car and hopped in the back, greeting the group. He was a videographer in training and the small group was happy to help him practice by taking them with him on various adventures. Mind you these were easy ones, trips to the Amazon, Sahara, Grand Canyon (that was his first time in the US), those were all common places that didn’t require further exploration, but they were good warm ups for the new adult.

This expedition however, was supposedly so dangerous the group didn’t want Tubbo coming. He still remembers the phone call he got two weeks ago as he stares out the window of the moving vehicle. Tubbo was finishing up an essay for a class at the time when his phone rang.

“Heya Gogy!” Tubbo greeted as he picked up the phone. “What’s up?”

“Hey Tubbo, we need a videographer for our next trip, but it’s a dangerous one. No group has ever left this area and I wanted to know-“

“Oh my god yes! Finally something exciting to go out and do!” Tubbo cheered.

“Now hang on Tubbo, this trip has a high mortality rate, are you sure you wanna go? Again, no one has come back alive, so there’s a good chance this might be our last journey.” George warned, “I want you to seriously think about this.”

“Anything is better than these stupid college courses. When’s the trip?” He asked.

Now here they were, walking up to the small plane they would be using to fly into the eye of the most massive storm on earth.

“This storm is the most massive thing to exist and yet it disobeys the laws of what is possible in a storm. Like it’s guarding something.” The pilot said, taking their luggage.

“How can a storm guard something? It’s a storm!” Jack said. The pilot shrugged, and looked down his nose at Tubbo.

“You sure you’re up for this pipsqueak? These guys have some seasoned experience, you’re just a kid.” He asked. Tubbo felt offended.

“I am more that capable of surviving thank you very much.” He said as he stamped on the Pilot’s foot.

“Kid’s got fight.” He said to George, wincing quietly at the throbbing pain in his toes.

“And he’s stubborn. I tried to dissuade him many times this week after we found a different videographer so Tubbo would be safe at home.” George whispered. Thankfully Tubbo didn’t hear.

The four got strapped in as Tubbo was messing around with his camera. He turned it on and started filming an entry vlog.

“Entry 001 of the trip to the mysterious island.” Tubbo started as the small plane was being taxied off the runway. “Gogy, what’s our mission?” He asked.

“The mission? We’re just flying directly into the weak point of a massive hurricane. Today is the only day the hurricane slows down according to research, so that’s where we’re going. From there, it’s a mystery.” George said as he turned to stare out the window. George was a seasoned biologist even though he was colorblind.

“Well hopefully we don’t end up at the bottom of the sea.” Jack quipped. He was an expert fisherman and a skilled shooter. He had brought with him a rifle able to off a bear.

“Jack don’t jinx us!” Fundy whined. Fundy was a botanist and coder, which the botany part was good and even better that he wasn’t colorblind, or at least he was hopefully not colorblind. He wasn’t that good with weapons though but he was very observant.

After a few hours Tubbo was getting bored and was about to take a nap,

“Brace yourselves lads.” The pilot said, they were approaching a massive hurricane. “We’ve arrived at the storm.”

The small plane glided in and was buffeted by strong winds and rain. Lightning flashed around them as thunder roared, warning them to turn back. The plane was experiencing massive amounts of turbulence, shaking violently.

“Oh god are we gonna die here?” Fundy started panicking.

“Calm down Fundy!” George snapped. “It hasn’t even been a minute!”

Suddenly a bolt of lighting struck the plane, shutting it down. The pilot pulled up on the controls , grunting as he tried to keep it in the air. The whole group of five was screaming in terror as they were spiraling down through the storm, or at least out of the storm, since there was now a massive amount of light. The plane crashed onto the beach and Tubbo knocked out from the sudden impact.

If jack manifold was in the bug au I could just imagine him being a firefly for some reason.

You are so right though! Tiny firefly Jack Manifold, glowing and acting as an itty bitty flashlight for his other bug friends.

I don't know if Ranboo is a human or a doll but there's a lot of Jealousinnit potential in this either way XD

I debated back and forth on Ranboo for a while, but he’s deffo a doll. 

Now, most jealousinnit will be of the type played for laughs, because at the same time that I’m writing a story that will likely bounce wildly between crack, angst, and horror, I’m still a sucker for fluff (And clingy duo. And bench trio. They’re friends your honor- )

However, the more common thing is Ranboo and Jack sitting on the dresser in Tubbo’s room and just watching whatever nonsense those two are getting up to. 

Ranboo absolutely joins in on the chaos at times, but there’s nothing more bonding than just watching clingy duo be the force of chaos they are and trying to stay out of the way. 

Many a time one or both of them have peaked in on the two having a conversation, where neither of them understands each other, (Tubbo because duh, Tommy because Tubbo is talking science and also they’re talking over each other- ) and have taken a look at whatever else is going on and just backing away slowly, like “I’m not dealing with that.”

Move back in the timeline of this au a little, how does Wilbur treat Tommy? Sure these are just dolls, but seeing the way the Tommy doll gets distressed when he starts fucking with it might strike a cord. He can ignore hearing the others little encrypted voices freak out when he does his things, but Tommy and maybe Ranboo depending on pre-pogtopia aliveburs relationship with him might be too hard for him to ignore so he just avoids doing his experiments on them when they are damaging or frightening ones.

Okay I waited to answer this one until I had that little bit extra, I think this last post does a good job of explaining that how Wil treats Tommy.

So yeah - Wilbur might feel something, and he mostly stays away... but there's definitively a hurt, at some point. A cruelty.

HOwever! Your mention of pre-pogtopia wilbur's relationship with Ranboo gives me a perfect segway into my next topic! Because Ranboo didn't join the smp until after Wilbur died. He never knew the man! 

And how does that relate? Because this story completely ignores that! That's the point! Timeline? What timeline? The timeline of the backstory to this fic is more tangled and interlooping than a plate of cooked spaghetti! 

I am picking and choosing where in their timelines each character is, and completely wiping away any points where it doesn't make sense! Jack? Yeah, Jack tried to kill Tommy, got over it, but what do you mean Tommy died at some point?

Dream's out here kinda relieved, ngl! He was getting way too stressed trying to run a server - who knows what he might have done!

George - Well, George is still George, I guess. I was going to write a third one but nothing’s better than the fact that George never changes, I think.

The timelines are all chaotic and make no sense, and make even less sense because I barely remember them and am also making no effort to hold to any part of them, ever, except the parts I like. It's not quite what you asked for, but it’s what I said anyways.

May I propose to you:

Niki as a normie and Jack as a doll. Jack tries to assist Niki in causing Tommy to die every once in a while and Niki helps but not because she hates the Tommy doll but because she either watches him do something mean to Jack and is like "Well that wasn't very nice, maybe just this once."

or

because she thinks it's funny seeing the Jack doll get so animated over causing little misfortunes to the Tommy one. "Aaawwww look at him! He's so happy! All we did was knock the Tommy one off his tower with a snowball."

Oh this is hilarious. Admittedly, I had planned, (vis a vis the endless spaghetti loops that are the timeline of this fic) for Jack to be in a vague gray area of “Yeah, tried to kill the dude, don’t really care anymore.” because I really like the energy. Seriously, I feel like Jack makes a great straight guy to a lot of the chaos that Tommy causes. There’s nothing better than Jack tiredly watching TommyInnit-brand ChaosTM.

But I love Niki watching one of the ‘dolls,’ the one that looks like Jack, trying to kill the one that looks like Tommy, and being like “Eh, just this once.” Cue loony-toons esque shenanigans.

Now that I think about it, though, this is a server with infinite lives. Jack absolutely has killed Tommy a few times, some of them being deaths that Tommy thought were accidents, and some of them after Jack admitted “Yeah, did try to kill you For Good back there.” and Tommy comes back and just swears at him.

(I can’t remember why Jack hates Tommy in canon and I feel like I remember people saying it was at least a little justified???? But here Jack gets a liking-Tommyinnit-arc via it being completely impossible to kill him for good. At some point, he just has to give up and try making up with the dude, or something. Use his words to express how much he hates him, because just killing him clearly isn’t working. Possibly even begrudging friends, after enough time of ShenanigansTM.)
