Stupid fuckin' Jack
the roof, the house, and the world you'd never thought to explore
So I decided that actually I’m done fixating on Singing September and focusing on the into the woods borrower AU sorry y’all I’m just done with the challenge I made 💀💀💀
These middle musicals are mid anyways I might come back at the end.
The Baker is the tired father, Cinderella is the oldest sister who is also the stand in babysitter, Red is the gremlin middle kid, Jack is the youngest kid that actually has no fucking clue what he’s doing, and Witch is the wine aunt™
If nobody’s asked this before, how old do you headcanon the main few characters to be? I’d say Cinderella is 19, Jack is 17, Little Red is 13, Rapunzel is 21.
And as for the baker and his wife, all I can say is mid twenties.
Yours is not far from my hcs! I'd say that Rapunzel's 16 and the Baker and His Wife are in their thirties. I think I've said before how Rapunzel's aging is slow due to the Witch and whatnot
Little Red teaching Jack how to swear.
Little Red and Jack would make Grilled pancakes. I can't explain why.
ive watched a bunch of into the woods productions where it honestly seems that the little red actress and the jack beanstalk actor might actually do better as a genderbent version of the other's character i think alternate castings could be super interesting provided they keep the core of the character intact and it would be much more difficult to genderbend characters like the older adults who are defined by their gender roles. BUT there could be something done with a male little red and a female jack. Maybe
Oh I ADORE this concept of Male Little Red and Female Jack character wise, because their genders could be changeable unlike the rest of the main cast where gender plays almost a major part in their roles
Also because they're young and haven't fully grasped gender roles by that point
And actor wise, frankly it shows a different point of view, I've seen Female Jack in a couple of productions and I love this idea
I agree that in some way it would change the story to show a growing girl/woman and a vulnerable boy since Into the Woods does play around with gender roles. Would love to see that honestly!
