Inserting IVs is a challenge at the level of nursing I'm in now, which is Noobie. But it's so much fun, and it feels so rewarding when I successfully get a hard stick on my first try. It's also even cooler when I successfully get the vein right on the wrist. Idk why, it just is. Also, it's cool to watch the blood go through the cannula into the vacutainer into the tube. Power IVs are the shit. You can feel the pull of the blood into the tube. This was random. It was also a reminder how nursing can be pretty darn cool as my future profession.

Nami-miss ko na siguro mag insert ng IV catheter sa ibang tao, pinagtitripan ko kasi ngayon yung ugat ko sa paa. Kinakapa ko yung isang pwedeng sweruhan. The other day nung nanuod ako ng Spiderman, nakalimutan ko na kung anong scene yun dun sa movie or isa sa mga trailer ata yun, pero may nakita akong ugat ng tao tapos sabi ko sa kanya (sa kasama ko) "gauge 22 na yan". Na-weirduhan ata siya sa akin. Haha. Kasi naman, kahit sa panonood ng sine, tinitignan ko yung ugat kung anong IV catheter ang pwedeng gamitin sa actor.

Kelangan ko na ulit makapag-insert! Haha.

my weakest link, before.. and now what??

hahaha, tuwang tuwa ako yesterday sa duty ko. out kasi yung IV nung for emergency extraction of foreign body namin na 6 years old (nakalulon ng 1peso coin). Itinawag na kasi na iprepare na daw, si ate Rhea ang nakasagot, eh mejo takot pa naman ata siya magprepare and magpaakyat ng for OR, kaya sakin niya nalang sinabi, eh naka-nap ako, nagulat ako (naalimpungatan). Pagtayo ko, nasalubong ko yung PBNT, sabi "Out po si Apolonio". Di, Pinuntahan ko. Out nga, pinatanggal ko na sakanila yung IV, then balik nako sa station para mag prepare, magiinsert ako ng panibagong line.

Ayun. To cut my story short, nainsertan ko, 1 shot. pagbalik namin sa station. Narinig ko magusap yung 2..

PBNT1: Ang galing niya maginsert, in agad. 

PBNT2: Oo nga eh.

Hahaha. Nakakatuwa makarinig ng ganun. Dati kasi ganun din ako sakanila. Rookie, tapos ngayon, pagnagiinsert ako, bihira na din nman ang madalawahan ko. Improved na din naman ako sa bagay na yan. kaya i am so proud of myself din. hehe. sige na, ako na ang proud. (:
