🎲- your favorite chapter/part from a multiparty series

Ooooh, I have a couple. I love the final two chapters of Heart and Soul, just the catharsis of it after all the heavy plot action hit me when I was writing it, it felt so nice. I also really like the third chapter of The Many Returns of Ianto Jones, set on the planet Phossoris-- the whole story and the setting are something I think would be fun to explore more in depth in an original story. And, more recently, I am so pleased with the last chapter of my LoA fic Shadows of the mess you made... it has possibly the most cathartic kiss scene I've written yet!

✏️- favorite part about writing

GREAT question, given that I haven't been writing much as of late, so it's good to remind myself of it as I climb out of this depressed funk. I love it when the story is writing itself, when you enter that flow state of pure excitement and you are speeding through the sentences because your mind is buzzing and racing. When it's going well, the act of writing feels amazing. Also, I love reading out loud when I edit. Gotta sound it out!

💍- your most underrated story

Ok, so there's two that I feel I did a great job with but that never really got much traction-- that would be Father's Son for Black Sails, which is understandable given that the main character is an OC and son of John Silver and Madi. It was a lot of fun to build and consider!

Another one I love is if you'd been a dog they would have drowned you at birth for IWTV. I am not a fan of Daniel and Armand as a romantic pairing, but I do love the idea of them antagonizing each other yet being strangely inseparable-- and I just loooved writing their verbal (and then physical) sparring :^D genuinely, I think it's my best IWTV fic; and not a single comment on it! woe woe woe is me

READING: Moby Dick by Herman Melville! Unfortunately, it's an abridged version, so some 50 chapters were cut out, but I absolutely love this and I will definitely get the full version eventually (maybe over the summer) so that I can read it all! Because, wow, this is such an impressive, interesting and exciting novel! The language Melville uses is mind-boggling in how ingenious it is, and I adore the characters.

LAST SERIES: the croatian version of skam, aka sram. ohh man what a pleasant surprise this show is... it took me back to 2016 when i used to watch clips from the og on google drive...thankfully these are all readily accessible on youtube.

LAST FILM: ingmar bergman's autumn sonata. i feel emotionally devastated, what a movie

LAST SONG: bolero by maurice ravel. i was writing!

SWEET OR SALTY: atm i have a real craving for something sweet, but in general i prefer salty food

COFFEE OR TEA: coffee! since i've been sick this week i haven't had any, i'd really like a nice latte :^O

WORKING ON: survival, mostly...but also making my way through ursula k le guin's steering the craft and writing bits and blobs based on the exercises in the book.

I feel like I missed out some, but...these four stand out as my absolute favorites, so, yeah.

Jade, That's Showbiz, Baby! (JAM upon JAM literally the best pop album of 2025 imho)

Bad Bunny, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS (again JAM upon JAM packed with great songs that make you want to dance but it's also deeply reflective of Puerto Rico and a love letter)

Koikoi, O sreći u snovima/ On Happiness in Dreams (probably my favorite band in the region- long awaited since their first album came out in 2021...)

Tamino, Every Dawn's a Mountain (Raven was my no 1 song of 2025, and while I do prefer maybe Sahar as a complete work, this one just showcases his evolution and it's mellow and lovely, I feel he somehow got even better as a singer)

some thoughts about frankenstein...(spoilers)

-ok, I really liked Jacob Elordi. I did not expect this but holy crap his physicality as the creature is absolutely spot on and just the makeup and the design and everything...really, really great

-great costumes, great sound, great set design, what you would expect from a del toro movie

-ehhhh now... I'll be honest, I think Pinocchio was far more successful in showing the conflict between fathers and sons. Maybe I just didn't get this take with frankenstein. I don't know why the brother was necessary. I did like Elizabeth having more agency and her sorta-romance-companionship with the creature. That was neat! And the sort of generational trauma going from Victor to the creature. But oddly enough, even though the film was long, it's like it wasn't long enough... I wish things were developed more, the ending feels somewhat abrupt with how Victor and the creature forgive one another. It is lovely, but also...a bit undeserved?

-Victor is too much of an asshole. The thing is, he is an asshole, he is arrogant, and he does presume to be god, but i think here it was a bit too much and the creature was made too good, almost? idk, i feel as if in the novel both of them had good and bad and it was more balanced.

-Also....the script is sometimes way too on the nose. Referencing Prometheus is cheeky haha yes I know the novel's title is the modern prometheus....but that "you're the monster" line was genuinely painful...like oh gee you think?? thanks for spelling it out?? but honestly this is a pet peeve i have with movies in general sometimes i prefer a subtle approach

-STILLLLLL overall I enjoyed it. it was good! good job! i wish it were a bit better or that i loved it more than i do because i was really looking forward to it lol
