The map system of Gravity Ghost allows the player to move through the various single screen levels in a relatively branching fashion. While the specific locales and levels are limited by which and how many Stars she’s unlocked, the player is allowed to skip some levels if desired, and even leave areas partially incomplete while going through other sets of levels. This ties in effectively with the non-linear storytelling the game employs, where events are presented out of sequence in order to paint a broad picture of the player character’s life up until the climax of the narrative.
God damn Haborim what are you doing to him
The abilities of the player character in Gravity Ghost primarily focus around maneuvering with gravity around celestial bodies, and changing those celestial bodies to traverse them more effectively. While some of these come up more frequently than others (turning a planet into water, etc.), they’re able to retain a level of unique employment by requiring the player to use up part of their growing and shrinking hair to power them. This gives their planet changing powers a build-up, making their pay off that much more enjoyable.
