I Was A King (IWAK) have to be in the running for most tags on this blog. That is in part due to the fact that they are a relatively prolific band in their own right, and also due to the fact that two of their main members (Frode Strømstad and Arne Kjelsrud Mathisen, who doesn't appear to play on this album) play in so many other bands/side projects that have been covered on this blog.

Suffice to say, I Was A King (Oslo, Norway) make music that remains consistent - both in style and greatness. In that way they are reminiscent of both The Bats and Teenage Fanclub (Norman Blake is a huge fan and the subject of one of IWAK's songs - "Norman Bleik").

"Until The End" will be released on Norwegian label Hype City Music. They don't have a huge presence on Bandcamp - definitely listen to King Hüsky (with great artwork by The High Water Marks Per Ole Bratset) - but the label has been around for over 20 years and was responsible for releasing that amazing Serena Maneesh LP 20 years ago.
