I like to think about the people who owned the clothing I sell, who they were, what they wore a particular garment to and how they felt while they were wearing it. For instance, this beautiful lace top. It undoubtedly began life in the late 1800s and was probably the bodice of a beautiful summer gown, the shape remains and the quality, style and type of lace all were popular in the day. At some point in time it was packed away, given away or just forgotten about. I would have loved to see the original dress and the owner wearing it! Along come the 1960s peace and love and recycled clothing it was re cut, re made, re invisioned by another generation who found beauty and created style. Fast forward to now and it’s still a relevant and beautiful work of art. Off the shoulder lace bodice, lace edged and closed at the front with amazing mother of pearl button and loops. Unlined and loose fitting. Puffy elbow length sleeves. Fits a small-medium. In amazing vintage condition.
